posts of everybodys good scores over the weekend? Do you not want to share in my excitement?
I shot a gross 90, a net 64! my best ever score in a medal!!

What was different in the way I played, and I have to say it was the short game, much more consistent and everything just seemed to click.

Two other guys came in with 60 and a 62, so I'm just waiting to see what the SS was to see how much I'll be cut. The other pleasing thing is that it's the clubs Autumn Cup, might of won my division.

So come on guys howd'ya do over the weekend? :D

75 for me (5over). In the gales, 1 lost ball for a triple on the 3rd and a sloppy double, double to finish. Everything in between couldn't have been much better.

Great shooting mate. Hope you won your division.

Game of 2 halves last Saturday. Gross 50 on front 9. Gross 38 on back 9. That was 3 over coming in with a triple on the 14th :) :)

I went to Yarmouth for a weekend of pool competitions.

Lost in the 4th round 6-4 to the eventual winner of the National Amateur Singles, and my team won 3 matches on the Saturday to get through to the Sunday but lost our first match Sunday 10-8 in the last 16.

Well.... you did ask :D

I don't get to play weekends - too many family things to do. But playing my first comp at the new club Wednesday. Its a Stableford and hopefully I'll give it a good go. Then the usual friday morning run-out. Got 32 points last friday - have to do better than that.

Good scoring though Golfmmad

Ha ha, I'll give you that!
You had a good go then, getting to the 4th round.
I used to play a bit in my younger days. Reminds me of the time when my older brother asked me to make up the team for a league match. First time I'd played a real match, and my brother said, "just keep hooking him up until you get your chance". Well I did just that and ended up beating him. He got quite frustrated as he couldn't pot a thing, I waited and seized the moment clearing my last 5 balls and smashing the black in. He wasn't very happy - it was then when my brother told me that he was their best player! :D

I played a bit when I was younger, and like golf, wish I'd gotten as keen as I am now back then.

Makes me wonder how good I could have been at both.

Sorry to take your thread off subject a little.

Out this weekend in the presidents cup. Tee off at 7:20 and have to be at a pool match about 8 miles away by 12 :o

77 and 70 gross at Dunston Hall on Friday (par 71). 79 in the wind on Saturday at Eaton , which had me finishing in 4th place in the County OOM Nett standings for the year.

Good weekend really

I won the Bob Walker Trophy in Match play against a 13 year old 15 handicaper 2 and 0. This year I have won Bob Walker Trophy (Best two rabbits score play a final, I won on net 61, he was cut below rabbit status after shooting a net 62), the Rabbits Trophy making me Rabbits champion and a mixed four ball Mcalinden Trophy, three wins in my first season and I am pretty pleased with myself. Now not so sure about the winter swing change as I seem to be doing something right with the unorthodox swing & grip I have.

Shot 92, net 66 in a gale. Played some great shots (by my usual standard), only let down by some wayward putting, 3 putted each of the first 4 holes to go 8 over, was 6 ft from the hole after 2 on the first :(. But it all came good in the end, was very happy when I finished. Lssons are starting to pay off, let's hope it was a springboard for the future.

Rubbish, Rubbish, Rubbish. N/R for me, I was struggling all morning as no part of my game was working. I should have known, as on the first tee I smacked my drive into the bushes. It hit something hard in there and popped out just in front of the ladies tee. :o I then managed to keep the same ball for 15 holes, then lost 3 on the 16th (2 over the cliff and 1 in the gorse). Then lost another ball on 17. HowdidIdo gave me 2 nett double bogie's for those 2 holes, and I only just broke a ton.

Think I need to work a bit harder this winter.

I enjoyed the pleasure of an invitation to GB72's track at Stoke Rochford, a pleasant parkland course, in fine fettle and with some sneaky borrows to the greens. It was played in pleasant autumnal weather. (For those in the know SR is better than Burghley just down the road).

I don't know the gross scores. We played a Stableford, GB taking the front 9, 18-16 and me taking the back 9, also 18-16. We both did some slightly silly things and some quite good ones too.

Really good mornings work, cheers GB.

I carded a 100 net72 (two over) was my best ever medal score, and won my division!!!
went out in 55 and came back with 45. Got six pars on the back nine, and took a 9 on the par 5 14th.
Really pleased as I only started palying golf in May.
:)

Thought you were looking at Mill Green? Mill Hill is miles away.

Yeah I was Mill Green that I mentioned in a previous thread. My grandfather played Mill Hill a few times and can't rate it highly enough.

Not going to be joining for another for few months anyway so just want information.

It is quite far, just down the A1 though. Lol, that means it could take me 15 minutes or 2 hours I guess x
