Seem like in the UK its, moan when it rains, moan when it doesn’t rain, moan when its too cold, moan when its too hot, moan when h/cap goes up, moan when h/cap comes down etc etc
Maybe just stick a TGL arena on each site and sell the rest of the course space for social housing

We have had 128mm since 1st March, that is about a month and a half’s average rainfall in the past 6 months, so it has really barely rained at all, 5mm so far in August barely a morning’s drizzle.

Many areas in the south west and midlands have had very little rainfall
Been the odd drizzle but most courses without fairway irrigation will be burnt out now

Due a reasonable amount this week...Vue people moaning about how much rain we're having in 10 days
Last year I don't think the water table ever got low over here. This year, the rainfall has been very low. It swings one way, then the other.
The NE of England is dry but not burnt I would say. I was down in Bristol a few weeks ago and one course I played had white fairways, parkland course. The SW really has had it dry.
We haven't had a bit of everything for 2 years now. Not a long time at all but we are usually a bit of everything country rather than an all or nothing place.

Nice track. Played it a few times…if I recall it was generally considered one of the best, if not the best, conditioned course in the city and suburbs.

It has quite a makeover of the bunkering by McEvoy and also quite a lot of length added since probably you last played it, a fairly stern test of the back tees these days.

We've had showers on the last 3 or 4 nights and one this morning. HID told me to look out for the rain after she'd put out some washing.

We do and a lot of clubs do but there are prob more than don’t due to the costs

As mentioned we do, I know Burnham and Berrow do (apparently though their reservoir is now dry and they are trucking in water at great expense), however I don't think there are any other clubs in our region with fairway irrigation.

I guess it has not been financially justifiable, or required, previously. The cost of installation plus the amount of water used..............All big numbers.
This year has been abnormal in terms of amount of rain. I can remember other hot summers but the longevity of this one, with minimal rain, is exceptional. Putting in full irrigation at this point would seem very extravagant.

I think it would cost us at least £500k minimum to put in fairway irrigation. But that's no good without a reservoir or somewhere to store water.
The amount we get from our bore hole keeps the tees and greens from deteriorating. We could do with a week of steady drizzle so it soaks in and doesn't run off the hard ground. Fairways are starting to burn up and some cracks are beginning to appear as well.

Yesterday it rained a bit at lunch, I went for a practice round at 4:30pm and you couldn't tell. It was still dry as a bone. It has rained in tiny amounts over the last few months, but never enough to make any real difference to the fairways.
