What's the best Christmas present you've ever had?

The first "plassie" footballs I remember were Frido (?).

About as durable as tissue paper but, in theory at least, repairable using a heated "branding iron". Absolutely useless but you could still have a kickabout with them.

Some lighter ones were balloons and more often than not were not round and so wobbled all over the place after you kicked them.

Strangely the answer is a tumble drier!

It was over 40 years ago, I was getting married in February and had bought a house a few months earlier, and was paying a hefty mortgage at the time. My mum who bought up 5 of us up, largely alone and always skint, bought us a tumble drier for Christmas.

The one that always stands out for me is Katy Copycat. I hated dolls as a rule but this one was "interactive" (in those days) and I really wanted one. We weren't well off, 5 of us and Dad was single parent, so I woke early on Christmas morning not expecting my wish to come true but there she was all set up in the corner of my bedroom - my Dad was such a special man!

Always more special when you really aren't expecting it.
