Just watching one of those top 100 toy type programmes, got me thinking back to a bike my dad got me for Christmas when I was about 5, was brilliant...even though he left the stabilisers at work and I had to wait until January to have a proper go on it.

Yours?

In the early-mid 80s I was desperate to change my ZX81 to an Amstrad CPC464. My parents told me they couldn't afford it but they would pay half, and if I asked other relatives for money that year then I should be able to save the balance pretty quickly. I was totally happy with this, had my sights set on owning it by Easter. Then they only went and bought it anyway :):). Maybe not the best toy ever but absolutely the best Christmas surprise present ever.

Mine was a Grifter Xl I thought I was the dogs when I go one. But looking at the picture of it now it looks rubbish.

A "caser" in 1959!

(A caser was a proper leather football, complete with rubber bladder and yellow lace)

Toss up between the Triang Hornby InterCity Express Train Set of 1967 and Meccano 5 of 1968. Both of which were shared presents with my brother as my folks couldn't afford big presents for us both. Still have both...:)

Girlfriend meeting me at the station coming home from work on Christmas Eve. Walked back to her place, got home, she took her coat off and was totally starkers underneath. No need for unwrapping!!!
