I think there is the root of the problem, sock choice when wearing shorts can't surely just be down to shoe colour, there has to be some sort of flow from headgear down to the sole of the shoe.

No, everyone needs to do it! I don't mind getting beat by better players but I need to finish ahead of the people that are worse than me (on the day).
