What's left to ban ....?

For me : caddies lining up players from behind , whether on green or fairway

I do not think there is anything to ban, for me all the things you have mentioned only effect the Pro game. Let's be honest here none of those things banned would make a flying fig of difference to the average club golfers ability. In the search to make the pro game harder it costs us all.

Caddies lining up is a good one.

Ditto for caddies setting foot on the green, apart from tending the pin.

I'd ban X flex shafts, a simple bend test would suffice before tee off. If it doesnt bend enough, its banned. Those that can control a more flexible shaft can chase it, those that can't, will have to reduce their power, much like hickory shafts used to be. Bring back the skill. Eliminate the bludgers.

I'd reduce the number of clubs to ten, to bring back shot making, and make the maximum loft on wedges 56 degrees.

I'd have fair way grass cut slightly longer, to reduce spin from iron shots, and also roll out on drives. This would bring conditions back to where they were in the seventies. Today's fairways are like greens used to be.

Oh, and I'd make them play faster. Lots faster. 4 hours tops, or dq.

In reply to Homers post. Athletes improve, they always have through science and understanding of the game and it's needs. Yes equipment helps as it also improves but making the ball go shorter is surely like extending the 100 meters to 120 because times are getting quicker. Instead of punishing our elite let them get on with it as they bear no resemblance to the 99,9% of real golfers.

Come on guys,it's Friday - lets be controversial ..

What about banning caddies
In return you can have as many clubs as you want but you have to carry them all

Or ban waterproofs ..

Americans lying about how far they hit clubs on Golf WRX and other sites, it really does my head in! The truth shall set you free brothers!

Slow Play! Not sure how though!

Caddies are there to assist player, so line-up is legitimte. Does seem daft to have to do it every time, but not unreasonable given what they are playing for!

I believe ball distance is pretty much max-ed out now. I can't see how they can roll back the distance without favouring one style over another and not have special 'Tournament' balls.

More than 1 new Driver release a year?

I would ban practice rounds before pro tournaments and yardage books, let them play the way we do when visiting a new course. And totally agree with the 4 hour rule 1 shot penalty for every 10 minutes over.

Defo caddies lining up players its shocking ,saw Wie's caddie stand behind her when she was hitting it out the rough to get it back in play a 10 yard shot for christ sake.

Getting 2 shots a hole, boom:whistle:

Long practice routines.

All players should be forced to arrive at the course no more than 6 minutes before their tee time, with no more than 12 practice putts being allowed, should players be skilled enough to be ready in time to actually have a putt.

I have to ask why?

The distance a ball can travel I the pro game to eliminate the need to make courses nearly 8000 yards

I don't understand the fascination with lengthening courses. Why not just put bunkers all the way across the fairway at 280, 310, 340 and 370 yards. Get a nice steep face on them and players will soon be laying up short rather than risk going in them. Either that or for a cheaper alternative just let the fairway stop at 310 yards and then have rough between there and the green.
