Atticus - amazingly I knew this - Gregory Peck in the film if I am not mistaken.(Just showing my age as usual!)
My own name has a bit of a story. As an Alison I never used Ali but when I worked as a college librarian (yes, strict and always glaring at noisy students) a cheeky young technician took to calling me Ali. B. It was the age of Ali Gee (?) for whom I had no time at all and I was 'black affronted.' Eventually I lightened up and found it a handy abbreviation for texting and logging into websites - so there you are - the new me.

Yes. Gregory Peck. I haven't seen the film as I'm a bit scared that it will detract from the book, but if it was on the telly I would probably watch it.
I would have expected you to know the character having been a librarian.

When I tried to start an ebay account, every version of my name or initials had gone already, so I chose the name of my cat, murphy, and have stuck with it for internet use.

Mine's my name, Dave, plus the last four of my old RAF service number. Anyone who has been in the services will know that they never forget their last four.

So what does MVP stand for mate? initials?

AliB after Ali Gee, i like it.

I thought the 23rd man was a reference to Sydney Carton who was the 23rd man beheaded in the climax of Dickens' a Tale of Two Cities?

Well for those of you who follow cricket,,, The Waugh twins (Steve and Mark)played for Oz throughout the 90's. Mark Waugh who was the youngest of the Waugh twins was nicknamed Junior.

I am also a twin, and my brother and I played for the same team cricket team for 13+ years. As I am the younger twin I got the nick name Junior and it has stuck for the last 15 years !!!!

I used to get into the ood scrap when I was a kid at school. One of my mates christened me Basher and the name stuck. Fairly easy to remember for the forum but thankfully the name is not as valid nowadays.

For those who follow football, mine is a local nickname for the local football club we follow.
This club was once very famous but has now fallen from grace.
We went to europe we won the cup twice!
Yes - we now live in the past but no-one can take our memories away.

Having just changed my username from the login of aaswift to my more usual forum name of Toon Army, I would think it is fairly obvious...

...and a few moments later we sack the fat-headed one from manager.

The power of the GM forum!
