What is the HARDEST shot to hit?

or the old classic, the 50 yard bunker shot - I either duff 10 yards in front of me or thin 20 yards past the flag:mad:

Gary Alliss explains how to play these in the current issue.

He says play you usual splash shot but witha 9 or 8 iron.

Maybe there could be a feature or regular section in the mag which looked at how to play some of the shots suggested on this thread with some of the GM pros teaching some readers (or forum members ) how to play their nightmare shot. It's one thing a pro demonstrating it but quite another as to whether an ordinary player can actually do it.

Deliberate shank if you ask me.

I had a dose (of them) a while back and cured myself by tying to hit them. I just coldnt do it deliberately.

So when a mate got his dose (of them) I told him to try and hit them. And he could - time after time. Now thats talent!

Interesting answers... the one that I was thinking about when I made the post was

140yrd FADE off a downhill lie

Practically impossible!! :D

You can't have your weight forward else you'll either fall down the slope or swing too much from the inside and hook it, you can't have your weight back else you'll hit the slope waaay behind the ball or thin the crap out of it - impossible I say!

(Don't mind the downhill bunker shot too much as you can practically lift the clubhead vertical and fat/splash the life out of it)

You should read about the ball flight laws mate, that'll sort you out. It's all in there.
