What is highest loft wedge you carry?

i have 54 58 and 60 deg vokeys use the 60 out of bunkers and love the club dont really use the 58 so currently out the bag but if i am playing a course where the bunkers has lots of sand i will use it and leave out the 60. my go to wedge is my 54 vokey love the club has a project x shaft in it and it spins so much more than my other vokeys

I think one or two Tour Pros might not agree with you on that one - and a few decent amateurs too.....

A 60 is no different to a 56 or a 50 - you just need to practice with it, commit to the shot . You also need to use it in the correct situation.

That is why I said "mainly". For most it is a crutch that they will eventually move away from, others who have developed there skills can use it as an effective tool.

56* for me, and its my go to club, i swear the grooves have started to move up the center of the clubface ive hit it so often, its frowning at me :(

I have 50,55 and 60 and within 50 yards, my 60 is my go to club, I blooming love it! Had some lessons with my pro who is a short game specialist, and I am getting pretty sharp with it! I probably could lose 1 Of my wedges, but I have a full bag and am happy with the longer end of it, so why change!

And I had you down as an educated man  ;)

Tinkering with a 64 degree at the moment, putting it back a little in the stance still gives a good high chip height, not tried it outside 25 yards and that is the way it will stay. Not sure yet if it will stay in the bag for the new season.

I am, I have 14 decent clubs already and pulled the 5 wood to give this a go for a couple of weeks before the season starts to see if there is any value with some of our raised greens. So far my 58 is holding its own.

I have a 64 in my bag, mainly cos it came with my first set of clubs - I quite like it, I can do a decent big phil esk splash shot with it, laying the club head almost flat on the ground, but it doesn't really get used a lot - although it is handy if I'm the wrong side of a bunker with a tight pin. It may have to come out the bag once I get some fairway woods tho.

My highest loft is a 60 deg wedge
It is used for Bunkers, and if I NEED to carry something high and land soft, chipping over bunkers, or raised greens, etc.........
I never carried a 60 until about 2-3 seasons, and when talking to a Local Tour Pro, was told most guys on tour carry a 60 for bunkers, it is by far the easiest bunker club around ( HE SAID ) , much easier than adjusting a sand wedge 56/58 , there are some that carry a less lofted club but are often 'cranked' to a higher loft, they just prefer the head shape of the lower lofted club
I agree a 60 deg isnt for everybody, and certainly for normal pitching / chipping, it should be practiced first, but in Bunkers, so much easier ( IMO )

56 for me, but I'm toying with the idea of changing to a 58 (my other wedge is a 52). I only really use it for bunkers and approaches inside 60 yards (if the situation is right) and occasionally around the green if the shot calls for a bit more loft.

Not that any of the above matters, as I'm still a terrible golfer! :D

My highest is a 60 as well. Sometimes it won't get used for a few rounds in a row then others I might use it 5 or 6 times in one round.

For approach shots I use all of my wedges with full, 3/4 and half swings for different yardages, then anything from 8 iron to lob wedge around the green depending on which club will produce the trajectory that I see in my imagination.

left my PW from set out of bag and now carry a 48 and 52 , which get used for approaches , 54 all around the green , and a 58 from bunkers or when high lob is needed, accomodated the 4th wedge by leaving 8i out of bag so now carry 5,6,7,and 9 much more consistent with my distances with this set up.

58 for me,can get good height out of it,did try a 64 on hols on a hire bag and it was great out of the bunker when there was no room to work with, pretty much a one trick pony though.

56 is current highest. 60 is currently parked until the ground gets a bit tighter - as I tend to dig with it. Have tried a 64, which was fun but only used it twice in a month so a bit of a waste.

Hit a 73 once that a mate had bought - when he didn't have a shot for under 100yds! 50yds was my max without hooding it - and boy did it go high!

60* for me, and it gets used as much as it's needed, the same as my other wedges.

I may have the same shot several times over and see the shot differently and so use a different club each time.

60 for me. Use it in bunkers and when I need to get the ball up and down very quickly. It isn't used often but it isn't in there at the expense of another club so it stays for now!
