What clubs do you take/practice with at the range ?

some longer , some shorter , covering all the bases type approach then ?

exactly....

Theres always a Driver used in the round
a fairway wood off the fairway or tee at certain holes
long/mid/high iron as they will always be used......
occasionally take SI instead

Bags are not allowed on the range I go to. Mainly because people steal their Srixon range balls. So I take.....

Driver

Hybrid

6 iron

7 iron

PW

These are the clubs I use most (Apart from the putter of course).

Driver
5w
7w
4i
7i
9i

Start from the bottom and work my way up then back down to finish. Rarely hit more than 15/20 balls with the Driver as we don't get along :D

I dont go to the range..Hate hitting off mats.....I use the club practice area...Its all grass with 2 greens....1 at either end.....From point to point its roughly 200 mtrs long so i can hit 4 iron to wedges....
its probably why im a pretty good iron player.....My longer woods im pretty proficient in hitting with the exception of the driver....Its a work in motion with that but progressing well....

I bring my whole bag when practicing.....
Ill start with my wedges from 90mtrs with my gap wedge to 80mtrs with my sand wedge.....Ill hit 50 balls with each of these.....
Whatever balls miss the green wherever they lie i will chip on to the green as close as i can get them to the flag....

After that ill hit half swings with both wedges from 55mtrs SW and 70mtrs GW......

Once im through with that lot ill then hit shots with my 5,6, and 7 irons....Roughly 30 balls with each......

I may finish with a few 4 irons.....
Thats tuesday night done......
On thursday nights ill hit half of the above and do about an hour on the putting green.....
And this week as im playing sunday ill go up to the club with the kids on saturday and treat them to some club grub and practice my putting for a few hours hit a few wedges and spend an hour or so chipping from various lies around the green......

I get brownie points for taking the kids....:whoo:....It also helps that their into golf too which is a great excuse to get out and practice.....

I usually take a couple of wedges and start on the short game area then gather the balls up and hit them down the range just using something like a 6 iron. I'm a firm believer in using the same swing for every club so don't see much point in taking loads of clubs.

Most range sessions I take the following clubs and approach...
1 wood - driver,3-wood,hybrid
1 group of irons - 3,5,7 or 4,6,8 (alternate)
1 wedge - s or p

always using 5 balls per club I will

work up the set - warming up
work back down - aim at targets
wedge play to different distances and targets
then work back up the set.
I'll work on any particular shot that hasn't been working right on recent rounds trying to iron out issues then finish with wedge play.

reckon short game practise should always be onto a practise green and with proper balls to develop feel - luckily my club a 30 yards an in practise area.

No bags on my range so usually take around 5/6 clubs

Driver,3 wood,hybrid,7 iron and my 52*& 58*w,
that way I can kind of recreate some of the holes I play at my course.
