Burst the blister, squeeze all the juice out until it's just a pocket of white skin, then rip the loose skin off.....two or three weeks you'll be as good as new!!!

I could buy the worlds most expensive putter - it'd be money well spent. Cost of putter divided by times used per round - it'd work out at about 1p per putt!

The beers helped. Thanks for all the advice and i can now conclude with practical experience that blisters form to cool the burnt area. supplement this with lengthy periods of cool water to assist with removing the rapid heat. after 24 hours carefully pierce the blister to remove the excess fluid. DO NOT PEEL AWAY THE SKIN OR ADD GERMOLENE. Tape over the area with a clear film plaster (without padding). After a further 24 hours remove the plaster and let the air do the rest. Job done!!
