Strange that

I played in a monsoon in my Proquip TourFlex suit and had no issues.

Do you have to original proof of purchase? I'd ask for a warrenty refund and/or replacement

I have the Proquip Aquastorm suit, which is very light, doesn't let a drop in and only cost me £100 for top and bottoms.

I had a Proquip suit when I first started playing Golf and I got soaked as well. Heard good reports about the company as well but this put me off buying them again. Got a Galvin Green set for a Birthday present and that was it for me, been out in all weathers in it and never even got damp. Be paying more than £200 for a jacket and trousers though as Galvin stuff is extremely expensive. Looking at £160 for the trousers and at least the same for the jacket depending on style and colour.

thanks mate dont think mine is a Proquip Tourflex bought it about 8 yrs ago cost about £60 where did you get yours from and how much, looking at the label it says weatherproof,,

I had a proquip suite a few years ago and though it was fine for the odd shower, but got soaked for anything more than that.

I was lucky enough to be given a GG jacket a few months ago and thought it was so good went a got the troos too. Its expensive yes, but worth it in the long run.

I have a footjoy suit, played 18 holes in v.heavy rain on Monday, finished dry as a bone. Bought it last autumn, very very happy with it after 6 months use, I think it is the dry joy version, paid around £200 for it be well worth the money. The trousers have belt loops and a zip fly so you can wear them as regular trousers which is a bonus (only on course tho')

Yep agree mine was the same o.k for a light shower but proper rain forget it, sold it on Ebay in the end. GG is quality mate, best Golf waterproof brand out there but very expensive as you say. I have the Alf trousers and not only are they waterproof they are really warm as well don't have to wear them as overtrousers if you don't want to either due to the lining in them.

galvin green astor jacket and alf trousers for me. stay dry and very very warm with no base layers get what you pay for this day and age

I've never had ANY gore-tex jacket that's kept me dry. I now have a set of Adidas Climaproof Storm waterproof that touch wood to date have been superb! They only cost me £100 as well with a 3 year waterproof guarantee.

My experience of Cross has also been mixed. I have an old Cross jacket that must be at least 7 years old now which is still 100% waterproof. I have also had newer Cross waterproofs where the waterproof trousers let in very badly at the knees and the crotch.

Nice jacket the Astor. I have the Atos in the White/Gull Grey and Black colourway which looks absolutely stunning on but with hindsight I don't think I will go for White as the main colour again as it gets absolutely caked in muck. The problem is while water just falls of the jacket mud splats and the like stick to it and by th end of the round it is in a real mess albeit I am bone dry.
