Slimmer fit waterproof trousers?

I need a pair of proper waterproof trousers, and just took delivery of a pair of Sunderlands to match my Jacket.

The first thing I noticed is they are so baggy in the lower leg, and without a belt loop, feel heavy (despite being lightweight).

Before I send them back, are all trousers like this? Does anyone know of a brand with slightly better fitting lower legs?

They are excellent. Waterproof, lined, slim fitting, and have a belt loop

Trousers are intended to be looser round the bottom of the legs because are normally intended to be worn over other trousers and will often be put on out on the course.

the two pairs of Galvins i;ve got have a velcro tab to make the bottom of the leg fold over, or you could get some bicycle clips

I got the decathlon golf waterproofs and find they're more of a genuine trouser fit as opposed to over-trousers. No belt loop though which is a downside.

Sunice. They have belt loops, and velcro at the bottom.

its the same of the Sunderlands for the very bottom of leg, im talking about the knees and calf area just seem too baggy.

My FJ's and Proquips all have zipped legs and the Proquips also have a velcro seam to ensure they don't overly flap. I think waterproofs are made a tad larger to accommodate going over normal trousers. As for belt loops that does vary from make to make. My Proquips do but the FJ's don't

in all seriousness i can see why they wouldn't be fitted at the bottom, would be harder to get them on with your shoes on, which i supect is the reason the are wider legs, rather than a fashion statment

Try sizing down from you're normal size. Waterproofs tend to have a lot of stretch in the waist area anyway and the leg length will be shorter too.

I do this with my pants, and they give a nice slim fit look similar to my normal ones.

Just bought a pair of the sunderland Quebec trousers but for me they seem a to fit me better than the others I've tried. They arent slim fit at all but are definitely narrower than some of the others I've tried (craghoppers steall, footjoy dryjoys Lts and a pair of Galvin greens)
May be helped by the fact they are also the shortest inside leg of all the above so the cut is better suited to me

Ran to Decathlon tonight and tried their trousers - much much better fit and ideal length too.
They are a bit noisy, especially due to hairy legs, but ok with long johns underneath.

ive also got these and they give a lifetime guarantee. I sent an old pair back after a year as the pocket had a hole in their customer service was excellent.
I wear these as a trouser as they are lined and designed to be worn on their own. All waterproof over trousers seem to be baggy.
I saw some Sunderland ones ‘Vail’ that look good, they aren’t over trousers and are water repellent as opposed to water proof but they look like a slimmer leg
