Wanted - Lower driver flight into wind

Look on you tube for punching the golf ball, essentially you keep the hands more forward of the clubhead decreasing the loft which in turn creates a lower flight.

Be careful with teeing lower, this can cause a steeper angle of attack which can cause the ball to balloon into the wind as your chopping down on it creating back spin,

The old tips are often the best; "swing with ease into the breeze".

You're not going to hit it so far and if you try to the ball just balloons up and loses distance.
A smooth swing will have more chance of finding the middle of the club and have a nice penetrating flight with not so much backspin.

According to our pro swinging smoothly is the key. The harder you hit it, the more the ball spins and the higher it goes.

I asked what shape you played with as a fade won't help you in the wind.

As you're a 'straight' ball hitter you could try flattening your swing a little by swinging around your body more. This will encourage a lower, more hooky type of shot, so aim a little further right of target and hey presto.

Teeing it low only works if the ball is moved fUrther back in your stance so that it still hits the middle of the face but at the bottom of the swing. (With a higher tee, you have the ball positioned a little left of the bottom of your swing so that you are hitting the ball withe club head on the way up)

But not much (for either height or tee position)

Personally I'd hit your normal shot - most of us on here are not skilled enough nor consistent enough to make a different swing when needed. You are better off with your normal swing hit well, than a modified one which probably won't be
