I was very lucky and paid £10.50 for mine and that included a set of woods.
Here they are drying after I had painted in the numbers and the red dot.

and the woods that came with them.

Ebay purchase collected in person so I got their full history. First owned by a club pro as his playing set for a couple of years. Then a chap bought them for his son.
It was this son that sold them to me. He had only ever been an occasional player of a few rounds a year.
He seems to have favoured the 3-wood by the wear on the face and the heel of the sole.

A triple whammy.

Crow spotted some woods, but let me bid for them.
They perfectly match one of my favourite sets of irons.
There were no other bidders.

Forgan Powerpakt persimmon woods.
They arrived this afternoon and I got to work on them straight away.

Seller's photos first

Gosh that 4-wood sole plate looks in a bad way!

1 hour later

I've put them away now, but there is still a bit more to do before a final polishing.

Are you happy with the multi-tool? I've been meaning to get a Dremel for a while but don't think I'd use it enough to justify the price. That thing looks like much better vfm, if it is actually decent.

Seems to do the job OK, but I've nothing to compare it with regards quality etc.
Whether you get one of these or the more famous Dremel, I do recommend the flexi-wand-thingy.
I bought exactly the one shown and then more accessories from amazon and ebay.
I need loads more sanding heads (the tube style) - seen how to make your own on youtube, but a big bagful is inexpensive and far less trouble.

Another 10 minutes or so on each club today.
Just got to find a day next week to clean and varnish the faces.
The wound leather grips with the gold thread running through them do not need anything doing to them.

I've got a Craigton driver that I will put with these when they go out on a course.

I have a set of 1965 hogan irons.Original shafts and grips. One of my highlights was shooting a one over 71 with them a few years back.Have a persimmon driver as well. And it’s like a automatic high draw hybrid for me.I can hit the most beautiful high draws with it.Distance is 240-250 with roll out

I have them sitting in the bag.The feed back between a good and bad shot is almost immediate. And you have to be a little “daring” with some shots. As that Excalibur hogan wedge is one unforgiving lad

Large package arrived today.
Oddsocks is owed a thousand thanks for collecting and posting something I spotted on Ebay.
Is there a Forumer Of The Year Award?

A set of John Letters, Dai Rees, Strokemaster Mark 2. Woods 1,3,4,5 and irons 3-SW.
A Scottish made set with a Welshman's name on them - Perfect.

There is a Slazenger bag and a Bronty putter for Crow. All negotiated and arranged by PM on here.

Ah, lets start with those interesting things that are sometimes found in the bag.

Always nice to see a classic 1.62 with a smiley cut in it.

After unpacking in the kitchen, just had time to clean and photograph the driver and six iron, before exceeding permitted kitchen-time limit for golf stuff.

Grips are nice

And a very nice putter for Crow who is a fan of all things Bronty.

Those 3 green fee tickets for Royal Magpie are worth the cost alone! :)
