From what I've seen in the press it's looking like the longest & straightest driver wins this week, so can't see much past DJ.

Although I might have a couple of bets on Tony Finau and Brooks defending his trophy.

Why oh why did I not put any flamin bets actually on?!?!?!

My wife, a non-golfer but does watch the TV coverage had Koepka E/W at 20's and Schauffele at 100/1.

I am having to pretend to be very happy for her!

Can someone explain to me how I won £7.75 on an EW bet please?

i got Hatton at 150/1 for a £1 bet each way.
He paid 6@1/5

Out of that I read that if he places 6th or better I get 30/1 for him. I know he shared 6th place, but I tried a lot of variation to calculate myself to £5.75 plus my stake back.

That looks about right. If he had been 6th alone you’d of got £31 back. The place was split by 4 so you get 1/4 the pay back.

Assuming you betting paying 6 places, he tied with 3 others for 6th. So in effect you get a 1/4 of 6th place so 1/4 of your stake wins the place and 3/4 loses

So you get 25p paid at 30/1 plus the 25p back, hence 7.75

Thanks. I am sure it is right, I just didn't expect to only get 0.25 back from my entry as William Hill shows it as getting 2 back. At least for next time I know what I am into.

And I am quit lucky he snuck into 6th at all. It's not like I lost 22, it's more winning 7.

And ironically this topic was started by someone dismissing the idea of Hatton being a good bet.
