US Open 2025 - Oakmont

Rory makes the cut, DeShambles gone

The ‘shambles’ is in a professional golfer throwing clubs about (on the 12th hole), and in smashing up a tee-marker (on the 17th hole)…
And that’s only just today’s round..

#childishpetulance🙄

What a crazy tournament so far. Went to bed about 10pm last night, didn’t foresee Rory making the cut but he’s in. Mickleson was well inside the cut with a few holes to play, gone. At one stage Lawrence was 3 in front at -6 and is now +1! It’s still anybody’s, pretty much all the way down the field!

Rory is a myth. Flukes a win at the masters with a dodgy driver and then immediately goes back to being middling tour pro.
The obsession with him on here is at best pathetic.

Lol.... 🎣 Much...
Take a break, you deserve it..
Apart from a few Majors and all the Tour Wins, what has he ever won?😁

That said, he and many others haven't adapted their games to cope with the Course. Bomb and gouge doesn't work if you can't 'gouge!"

Shock horror! McGinley came up with his best line in history. "We're seeing modern players not adapting to a old fashioned golf course "

I genuinely don’t even think it’s an adaption issue tbh it’s almost like a bombs in your hands on this course I’ve watched a lot of it for 2 days and I’ve seen golfers look in complete control for large parts only to just lose it

I’ll be impressed if the winners under par even more so if it’s one of Spaun or Burns as it’ll show nerves haven’t got the best of them

It’s a great watch knowing that there’s scores of -5 out there but you can easily post +5 it’s going to be a tight finish surely

Agree & hope you are right.

Seems for majors now there's a set of these 'fun sucking' articles

As an avid golfer I enjoy a wide variety of competitions covered by the media. The US Open always promises so much yet time and again we see top players missing the cut and we are deprived the opportunity of seeing a genuine battle between the star names. The course makes it a lottery- no top 10 player has won since Woods in 2008. Compared to The Masters where they get it so right the US Open just get it so wrong!

Is that Oakmont off the tees for this tournament with this rough and pin position,?
If so I don't think I would get even close to my handicap.
I'd have to shoot 95, I don't think I'm going under three figures.
