It's golf. If it were on.......I'd watch for 10 minutes. Golf is better played.....watched?....nope. Wife likely to put on Greys Anatomy soon.....better than watching golf......and I don't like Greys anatomy.

Wouldn't be a major week without a whinge at the Sky team..
Spent a while quoting a load of PGAT stuff, fed ex positions, cut streak on PGAT, etc. - jeez put the handbook away it's a major week.
Then put up a graphic predicting the cut being +5. US Open's own site predicting +7.

Do I get shot down for saying this course looks sooooo bland? I'm sure it plays ok but so visually boring. Comparison photos from the 90's show trees but they seem to have bulldozed the place!

It's not visually impressive, but it is certainly a test of golf.
Taking out trees seems to be fashionable to improve the grass and stop protection from the wind.

I get the agronomic argument (I'm a cricket groundsman in my spare time) but it looks so visually unappealing it's untrue. To me if you have no trees then you had better be by the sea.

In fact, when they show a "long shot" it looks like a brand new course built on a landfill site with trees along the perimeters. It reminds me of Sharpley when it was settling in!

Everything looks flat on the TV screen.
It must be fantastic to play and very intimidating but your right it looks bland on TV.

I appreciate what you are saying, I truly do. the problem for me is that if contoured greens and intimidation is needed then there are many other courses that achieve this whilst also being visually appealing with trees or being by the coast.
I guess it's just not to my liking and I certainly wouldn't pay to play it

I'm shocked McIlroy made the cut.
As I said yesterday, every time I tune in, he plays like a hacker. As I was home from work, I watched start of his round, to see him start double, par, double to fall to +8.
At that point, stopped watching and put on ps5.
I've now turned off ps5 and stuck on TV to see leaderboard. Only to see McIlroy having a birdie on last hole to finish +6.
I was sure he was going to be +14 or worse. Decent last 15 holes.
