US Open 2025 - Oakmont

As years have gone by, I've realised that I've very little interest in watching Thursday golf, and probably Friday as well. The leaderboard hasn't settled down yet, so the coverage just flies all over the place. Mainly between the high profile golfers, a golfer who happens to be near the top at the time (who could easily fall away before the we even get to Saturday) and the odd random golfer, who you know is going to hole a putt or hit a great shot, because, why else would they be showing them at that moment?

So, I'll probably give it a miss tonight, and then start watching it on Saturday night, when most of the focus is on the guys nearer the top.

I agree, there is nothing special about the course, from the little I have watched it. But, as others have said, the same is probably true for a lot of links courses.

It's not a course that makes you rush out and want to play it. Not interesting or attractive. Might be good for a major but I won't be packing my bags for it (yes, I am aware that they will not get a stuff about that)

I find it really interesting. Would love to play it. 🤷‍♂️

I agree having a motorway running through the middle is a big negative

That swing sheffler made there pulling it left off the tee and trying to save it with his arms like zoro is incredible.
There’ll be stills somehwere, imagine showing that to someone 20 year ago saying this guy is dominating golf just now
