US Open 2025 - Oakmont

I seem to recall Tiger saying the same thing. The M1 was designed for better players with faster swings but in the end the second generation M2 was incredibly popular on tour. Plenty of players were still using it long after it had been superseded by M3,4,5,6 etc.
Some still have them in the bag now, not the big boys but I’ve certainly seen some of the DP tour use it in recent years, and I’m sure Justin rose used it a couple of years ago.

Now I've got an image of Scottie doing this when he wins.

Now
Doing what??

Apparently Rory has gone back to the Q10 driver.
Would be interesting to see which driver each pro would use if they weren’t signed up to a manufacturer.

I've put the Shep Kiss of Death on this motley crew: Corey Conners, Collin Morikawa, Aaron Rai, Shane Lowry and Sepp Straka. Picked them all because they're relatively straight off the tee (and Lowry came second last time it was at Oakmont).
£6 on each to finish in the top 20 so I won't be retiring on the winnings!

If it's going to be, and it looks like it might be, a slog-fest of watching the best players in the world hacking out of rough so thick you can find lost tribes in....
I'll skip it.
I don't necessarily want a birdie bonanza but I see nothing wrong with 10 under over 4 rounds being a winning score..

Each to their own, like many things in life, and in this case preferences for golf courses and types of golf 👍🏻

Do you normally watch any golf on TV?

Dammit….was going to type my prediction (aside from Scottie obvs!) of Aberg….just checked the leaderboard and he’s already at the top at -2

He’s long and straight, and a great driver of the ball, is my reasoning…allied with a good temperament
