Upcoming live concerts.

We are also going to see Fish in Bristol. (Wife's choice, she's a big Fish & Marillion fan)
Yesterday my wife (the one who really wanted to go and see Fish) booked a golf holiday in Fuerteventura for February. Then she discovered that the Fish concert is while we'll be away 🤦
Tickets now for sale through Ticketmaster's system. Thank God she did it and not me!

I've got the Stranglers next Friday in Glasgow and next Saturday in Edinburgh.
Well, those two gigs were fantastic.
Next Stranglers gig is the just announced one at North Berwick "Fringe by the Sea" in North Berwick in early August.

Also got Echo and the Bunnymen at Kelvingrove bandstand in Aug.

I’d love to go to Ronnies one day 👌
First time for me and looking forward to it, the Mrs has always wanted to go there so we booked priority tickets near the stage and bar 👍

I found a very small blues bar not far from Ronnie Scott’s called Ain’t nothing but the blues, I’ve been in 3/4 times when in London and it’s worth a visit.

For those further south The Stranglers are at Guilfest - https://www.guilfest.co.uk/lineup

Shalamar were brilliant. Still great voices, tremendous 90 minute set and they were really into having a good time. And Jeffrey Daniels did his legendary moonwalk of course. Supported by Jaki Graham who was a bit karaoke singing to backing tracks but still a good support act.

Blondie and Sting next week in Plymouth.

Next Saturday or Sunday me and Mrs are going to Girls Aloud up in Leeds at the First Direct Arena. Now I’ve never been to a true pop (as opposed to rock) concert…ever…never mind a group like Girls Aloud in an major arena - with their three tour buses and half a dozen artic loads of gear. Actually really looking forward to it…😍 Currently waiting to hear from our lad whether Sat or Sun he can get us the best guest tickets.

Btw…it’s a huge fundraising tour in memory of band member Sarah Harding who died of breast cancer in Sept 2021 at the age of 39. Proceeds will go to the Christie NHS Trust Breast Cancer research charity that has been set up in her memory. A worthy cause close to my wife’s heart if anyone thinking of doing any fundraising.

Well that was just fantastic and tremendous fun. What a production and show, and what a great set - brilliant pop songs - possibly the best of the 00s. You can keep your extended and often self-indulgent guitar and drum solos. Girls Aloud…just awesome.😍😍

…and the First Direct Arena in Leeds is an awesome venue…14,000 capacity in a towering fan. Much recommended.

Blondie live last weekend in Plymouth. Not great as she is older than Father Time but a lot better than she was at Glastonbury. All the great hits belted out, Clem Burke going totally ape on drums as usual and Glen Matlock on bass.
Did not stay right up the front for Sting - getting too old for the crowd crush now.

Got tickets for Aussie Floyd in Edinburgh in November, so that’s Ronnie Scott’s booked also Dusk Brothers at Borderline both in July, good second half of year music wise.

Dusk brothers were brilliant, but it was 100 club not borderline club which is closed now I think.

Off to Ronnie Scott’s blues explosion tonight.

Saw the Killers on Thursday at the O2 with Travis as support, Travis were excellent but the Killers are different class, how Brandon Flowers keeps the energy up after 20 years is just unbelievable.

Also kudos to a member of the crowd “Jenny” who jumped up on stage to play drums during “Reasons Unknown” absolutely nailed it.

Ronnie Scott’s was brilliant , if you like blues this is the night to go, blues explosion play once a month, 8 piece band and they were exceptional one of the best nights I’ve had in years.

Plenty of other music to suit your taste but the venue is perfect for what I like, close to the band and chilled atmosphere.

Got a booking in September at Ronnie's for a blues session - looking forward to it.
