Apparently this is still as strong as ever - but does anyone know what it actually means?
We don’t get special treatment (or so it seems ) either trade wise or socially so is it just something that the media has made up?

We don't object to there doings and they let us suck at the teet of their success

We are a tiny nation that fits in one of their states

They like us because we roll over and take it

Pretty much. UK politicians seem to crave US approval as well so I think it is something the politicians and media have created and promoted. I don't have any illusions that the US sees it the same way.

From our position its about letting the rest of the world know that we've got some strong mates if it comes to a fight.
Some bravado in that and a little reality.
