House was like so many great shows, superb until the last series or 2 and then it went off the rails.

Credit to Hugh Lawrie that some people had difficulty believing he was not American.

He did an interview on Graham Norton a little while ago and he was asked if he ever found himself doing the accent without effort, just speaking that way. No was the answer, every word, every sentence was hard work for him. I thought more of him after hearing that. Agree with what you said about it

Yeah, I started watching it because I'd seen an interview about him getting the role.
The producers had wanted an American actor to play the character. After they saw his audition they thought he was perfect and told the casting director that they had been right to insist on an American.

Has anyone watched Hotel Portofino? Gave up after two episodes.

We've watched 4 episodes so far and have enjoyed it. Fairly gentle stuff but interesting to see the slow influence of Mussolini's Italy as the series develops.

I watched a documentary last night, on Netflix, called Stutz. It is the length of a typical film, and basically actor Jonah Hill chronicling the life of his psychiatrist Dr Phil Stutz.

It was very good. Stutz is a pretty unique individual. If anyone has ever needed psychiatric help, I bet they wish their doctor was like this guy. Almost a bit like Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting.

Yes and no. Trying not to post spoilers but we hit the same story beats and ended up in the same sort of position at the end but got there via slightly different methods and places.

A good variety of pianists but the absolute star of the show was the young blind girl!

She was brilliant. The whole programme was a joy.

Just finished The Gold about the Brinks Mat robbery. Great acting, well made but not sure of the ‘lovable rogue’ portrayal of some of the villains who subsequently proved to be anything but.

Just started “The Indian Doctor” on Prime. Missed it back in 2010 when it was first on, watching on Prime, first two episodes were enjoyable.

Line 42 on Netflix. A Belgian police series, computer/tech division. Very watchable.
