TV Series - What Are You Watching?

Started the new the last of us last night, can’t remember a thing of how it ended, going to need a revisit to the last season

I know he is Irish as I have seen interviews but the specific Irish regional accent he uses in is Mobland odd, it is not his normal accent, far from it.

I understand what you are saying now.

Bit like the actors in Peaky Blinders probably a bit put on / exaggerated so people who do/did not live there are sure what region they are from.

Bit of a guilty pleasure one, Interior Design Masters. My wife likes it but in the past I've been put off by the both the contestants and judges being quite nasty and bitchy. I don't know if anyone has had a word or they have just realised and changed for themselves but the current series is much more positive and encouraging. All of the designers are good, there is no hiding behind a cushion as someone has a nightmare. Not all are to my taste but that is fine, it's good to get out of your comfort zone every so often.

For me, this series has two outstanding designers, Rita and Craig, but anyone could go with a bad week.

Breeders was getting a bit serious and downbeat, wife wanted a break from it so we put a few episodes of Boomers on for some light relief. Very amusing and features quite a few famous old comic actors, including Alison Steadman, Russ Abbot, Glenn from the The Thick Of it. I'd never heard of it but apparently it was made ten years ago.

Went back to Breeders last night and series 3 episode 8 was fantastically acted - considering it was almost entirely shot inside a car. Superb stuff.

Digging For Britain.

I got quite excited yesterday morning when I read the TV listings in The Times. It said,

"BBC2 8pm, Digging For Britain: Archaeologists in Somerset are blown away by the discovery of an entirely new Roman town in the intended pathway of some new electricity cables."

"Gosh", I thought, "I'm sure I will also be 'blown away' by that."

It was a bit of a let down. It turned out to be an entirely old Roman town.

Well, never mind. I'm always happy to watch anything Prof Alice Roberts is doing.

Mobland now up to ep 6 - a real classic in the making.

Helen Mirren is scary and powerful, Tom Hardy is creating one of the great TV characters.

Excellent stuff, thoroughly recommended.

Started watching "You" a while back. Got through Season 1, and now watched Episode 1 in Season 2.

The ratings it got were very good. In all honesty though, I cannot say it is gripping me. I'm wondering if it gets better and better, or if it is just the type of thing I'll never really get hooked to.
