Hello

Always here people harping on about how carrying clubs round in a golf trolley will knock shots off your game. I'm only 28 and without trying to offend anyone I only ever really see the older players of the game using them but for a while now I've really considered buying one for the only reason that I cant be arsed to carry my bag on my shoulder anymore.

Do most people on here use them?

Get a grip man and carry them! I'm 29 and will not be pushing or pulling a trolley for fear of looking like an old woman.

Nothing to be embarrassed about Grogger.... I have one...It was bought 3 years ago for me by my better half after i had ruptured my Achilles Playing football....I used it for the bones of 2 years and then went an did my other Achilles Tendon playing ball again...So that was twice on two different legs in the space of 3 years......After the second injury i needed to get some muscle mass back into my legs so i decided to carry.....
I carried for all of last season and right up until last weekend....My back has been giving me a bit of grief (Not from carrying i dont think) so i said that id give it a break and took my HillBilly Terrain 2 out of the cupboard again.....So ill use it for a few weeks until the back rights itself......
Oh and im only 38.....

The other thing is that i see a lot of the single figure lads carrying in the first half of 24 or 36 hole comps and then flip over for the trolley for the second half....

I was always against them as i'm pretty fit and still youngish (31) but they do come in handy, in winter when you have to pack extra layers, waterproofs etc and in summer when i play 36 or 27 holes in a day it makes it easier.

I still prefer to carry but it's a nice alternative to have when i need it.

People who carry only do so because they:

1. Like to say they do
2. Care about the stigma of carrying
3. Genuinely care about burning extra calories.

If you like being able to walk wherever you want with your bag on your back, and are able to do so, then carry.

If you like being able to stroll along with your clubs being wheeled along for you, get a trolley.

What people think of you for doing either is irrelevant.

I prefer to carry and do during the winter when the ground is soft. I have an electric trolley which I use during the summer when the ground is hard. I was advised by my surgeon in the RAF I shouldn't play anymore, but he went onto say make sure you use a trolley as I know you won't give up playing.

I am only 29 and have been using one for the last 5 years, like I said its for medical reasons or I would carry all year round.

I am 34 and use a trolley. I have mates in their 20's that use leccy trolleys. What's the problem? I feel it helps me relax on the course, I had o carry on Friday, but was my cart bag absolutely full of gear, I was destroyed after 9 holes! Damn trolley ban!

4. Cannot afford a trolley
5. Have no where to keep a trolley
6. Simply do not want a trolley

4- Half decent trolleys e.g. Masters 3 series can be bought for the same price as a box of Pro V1s. Not having it!
5- Fair enough. I understand that most carriers get the bus to their golf club.
6- Why?

I bought a GoKart when I was 35, 3 years ago, and have loved having it. I'm not about to say it's knocked shots off my handicap but it certainly gave me more energy at the closing stages of a round.

I would say if you want one, buy one . Don't care what other people may think or say.

I'm 60 this year and carry.

Much simpler around greens and many other areas of the course.

Don't have anywhere on my motorcycle to fit a trolley, but can sling the bag over my shoulder very easily.
