Trainers style golf shoes

Having had a look at Trendy Golf's website I noticed they have some trainer style golf shoes (Puma & Ecco), being a man who prefers trainers to shoes I'm interested but have concerns about style over substance.
Has anybody had any of them?
How are they in terms of support, comfort etc?
 
Haven't adidas released a range too. Not sure at my age they would suit but I've no issues with anyone wearing them. I guess the issue starts when people use trainers, breaking the dress code rules (certainly at my club) and point to these and say there's no difference
 
see the adidas samba thread from a couple of days ago for this debate.

ecco do a trainery type golf shoe for the more fred coupley player among us. adiadas for the under 30's my brother says. in reality wear what ever the hell you like. Big John does, so why shouldnt you. will it make you a better player, no? will it make you feel better? maybe!
 
I have a pair of Nike Dunks, and yes, they are very comfortable. That said, I have not worn them much, as they are predominantly white, and it is not the conditions for white shoes yet.

They are leather, and supposedly waterproof, and they have the usual cleats, so are definitely golf shoes.
 
ill be getting the sambas but as you say its not the weather for them just yet. even during the summer it will only be on those bone dry days otherwise its the old workhorses of footjoys in the muck!
 
Been away from the PC for a few days so haven't really followed other threads.

In terms of the style, as long as they are proper golf shoes I don't care if the old fogies don't like the style. My main interest is whether they do the job in terms of comfort & support. I've had plenty of pairs of Samba's & Puma trainers over the years, just hoping the golf "trainers" are as good.
 
Have been looking at the Adidas ones not the Samba type as there football trainers in my eyes, my course gets firm underfoot in the summer and when im on holiday in Ireland wearing golf shoes for 36 holes a day the feet get a bit sore.

Think these would fit the bill to be honest they look comfortable and a decent price ,think Direct Golf had them for £55.
 
I hate them, might as well wear a pair of trainers on the course. You can't see the soles when you're playing so what's the difference between wearing trainers and "golf shoes" that look like trainers?
Ban 'em I say.

to be fair dress code is the issue for me. my 'local' club (i'm a nomad but play here more regularly than any other) insists on proper golf shoes. to me that means cleats/spikes but to the membership secretary i guess it could mean formal thingys. i also play a lot of society and many of these clubs say shoes with no mention of trainers.
 
As much as I agree with the concerns with dress code, didn't Freddie Couples wear a pair of trainers in the Masters a couple of years ago??
They wont be for me, I'll be sticking with the Footjoys for the time being
