How much is too much?

I played tons last year when I wasn't working and never felt my enthusiasm wane.

This week (while back working full-time) I've played/am playing:

Saturday - 12 twilight holes in my continuing quest to get HID to play golf
Sunday - Prestonfield practice round for Interclub
Monday - scratch team match at Murrayfield
Wednesday - Interclub first round
Tonight - club singles tie
Tomorrow - Interclub second round
Saturday - either Interclub semi-final / final (maybe) or monthly medal at my own club (if we lose Friday night)

Tons more planned for the next couple of weeks as well.

I can honestly say that I can't be bothered playing tonight and could really do without it. Anyone else feel they're playing too much? There are worse problems to have I guess...... :)

5 full rounds last week and by round 4 I was bored and by round 5 I would rather have been shopping with the missus.

I was also buckled after 4 rounds. If I was on tour I would need to miss the cut each week as 4 rounds in 4 days was way too much.

Twice a week is more than enough for me.

I tend to practice more than I play just lately.

Range Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

9 twilight holes after work on a Tuesday

Full 18 holes Saturday.

Short game practice and, maybe, a few holes of a Sunday morning.

Joined a new club and I am playing 5-6 times a week... even if its just 9. I think back to those days in January of darkness as I leave work and two awful soggy bitter cold days at a weekend of golf... thats if its open!

Im filling my boots to be honest :-)

Bad swing faults last week that definitely makes me wish I had stayed in and chilled at times but when its working you wont find me anywhere other than the course or clubhouse

Not even close. I'm getting out averaging approximately once a week. I have only played that much golf once when I went to Scotland for the week and played 7 rounds in 6 days and I loved every minute of it. Just seeing the obvious improvement to how I was striking the ball and putting etc was a great feeling.

Playing 3 or 4 times a week after work for 9 or more holes depending on the light and an 18 hole round at the weekend.
I think I may be playing too much and not practicing enough, particularly short game.
I went up to spend an hour on the short game area last night but the draw of the first tee was too much.

Make the most of it while the weather is decent, you will soon be moaning you cannot play when it turns nasty again

True, trouble is most of these games would be going ahead even if the weather was totally awful (and it's not been that great, frankly!). My waterproofs have already seen waaaay too much action this year!

Right, well it could be worse snow could be on the ground. I am heading out this afternoon for some practice after yesterdays carnage!! Glorious here in the NW almost short sleeve temperature.

Depends how I'm playing - if I'm striping it and converting scores then I don't want to stop riding that wave so will play as much as I can.

If I'm schlaffing it about, then the loop of the first 3 holes that arrives back at the clubhouse is about my maximum!!!

ditto, we also have a first 3 holes right back at the clubhouse, very handy
