look we are going to carry on disagreeing that's clear.
if Spieth and reed got stuffed the press would have said how can you drop a perfect combination - Watson is to blame.

mcginley got McIlroy Garcia wrong. It was a nob of a pairing. If the usa get beat by them they say ok that's somewhat expected given they are 1 and 3 in the world. Even more they have weakened other pairings by playing their 2 best players together. Furthermore if they could turn them over what a dagger to the heart for Europe losing a NAP. How did it turn out half a point from the first day.

But none of that happened - deal in facts that actually happened as opposed to looking for scenarios full of ifs and buts

Watson clearly made wrong choices and those choices contributed to the US losing the Ryder Cup

As captain it was his job to ensure the team was gelled together , every possible partnership was looked at , no stone was left turned and he was able to react to the situation happening right there and then - McGinley did all that and reaped the rewards - Watson didnt and the US lost.

No one has said the players are without blame and the players not stepping up doesn't excuse the person who picked some of them and built the pairs teams

Can you tell us what was wrong with the pairings Watson picked? Ignore the fact they played poorly and lost because that can happen to anyone and losing doesn't necessarily mean the pairing was wrong. Just give us your expert analysis of why, on paper, the pairings were wrong?

What do you mean none of it happened? Mcilroy and Garcia (the best 2 players in the Ryder cup) where paired together on Day 1 and won half a point out of 2 (FACT). And only got a half thanks to a kindly kick from a tree on 18.
