tiger spit

only saw one spit, didnt like it but I can sure live with it without going mental on a public forum:whistle:

I saw Stenson pick his nose with both hands but he's a human being and I feel it's not worth reporting to the world....

Theres a lot of very angry people on this forum who get in a right strop over nothing:rofl:

A real sportsman would eat it!

Wow some bitter comments coming out here. No big fan of Woods and spitting is a horrible habit but he is not the only one you just see him more because he is on the TV more. Start hitting anyone caught doing this with a 1 stroke penalty and see what happens. However some of the anti Woods stuff that goes on here is crazy

He gets fined for spitting.

Apparently the spitting is part of his mental process for dealing with a bad shot.

It's disgusting and rather than fine him they should give him a shot penalty for every spit. He'd soon stop then.

A shot penalty for spitting? Are you guys serious? Can we roll out shot penalties for farts, two shots if it's a real corker?

Yes, it's not nice. But as long as you don't go rolling in it, what's the big deal?

Yes very serious. Farts is something that the individual cannot do anything about, if it wants out it's gonna come out:) However spitting is something that is done on purpose and is a filthy habit. No need to do it when playing golf whatsoever. The big deal is that it looks bad and is horrible to watch

Amen. Someone talking sense.

I've never heard my Wife fart, ever. And although I make no effort to hide mine, in fact doing quite the opposite to spread the fumes on occasion, I can control them when necessary.

Yeah, it's not great. But he's not spitting at anyone, or doing it to offend anyone. The time he did on the green was out of order, but otherwise there are other things to worry about IMO.

Yeah, it's no big deal. Tiger spat on a green and Garcia spat in the cup - you're right, no big deal.

I saw Tiger spit - he didn't spit on the ground, he spat into the wind. Now, how forgiving would you be if his spit carried in the wind and hit you? If you'd do nothing as you think that it is acceptable then you're right, no big deal.

There are other thing to worry about your correct but they need sorting out as well. The more this filthy habit is deemed acceptable the more will do it and before you know the stars of the future will copy, nip it in the bud now and get it stopped. Fines are pointless start hitting them on the scoreboard and we will soon see how necessary it is

Im not saying its acceptable, I just don't think it's worth all the fuss people are kicking up.

When i'm at work i swear almost constantly when i'm stressed, today was my youngest Grandsons Christening, i was very stressed but managed to not swear at all. Time and place for everything, i didn't think a church or gathering afterwards was a place to vent my spleen, so why should Tiger think its acceptable to "gob" constantly whilst the cameras are on him ?

It's worth the fuss. It's worth a huge amount of fuss.

THERE IS NO PLACE FOR SPITTING ON A GOLF COURSE!

It's as simple as that.

Why does he spit? I played golf today. I didn't have a caddy - I carried my clubs. I went into a couple of bunkers. It was quite warm. At no point did I feel the need to spit. There was no need for Woods to spit.

Very well said. This cannot be defended in any circumstance, it is indicative of the general dumbing down of acceptability by people who really should know better. I seriously doubt any British person has been brought up to believe that spitting in public is acceptable, if you have, I have no problem in saying shame on you, it is disgusting and it cannot be defended by anyone, if you think it can be, try doing it in front of your mother and see if you do not get a clip around the lughole.

Seems everyone is pretty united about spitting being particularly offnsive.

No how do we get the message aross to Football players?!
