As the forum becomes more and more argumentative and not just limited to politics, the good and funny guys and girls have stopped posting and have left.
Then you're mostly left with pedantic trolls who will argue about anything and refuse to admit they are wrong.

I'm all for constructive discussion and a bit of give and take as we're never going to agree about everything all the time.
But for goodness sake, if you don't agree with someone, say your piece and move on, your blood pressure will thank you.

Either the bitching has to stop or this forum is going down the toilet fast.
Shame really as it's just a few that are spoiling it for the rest.

I figure you're joking but if not - it wouldn't work because 'troll' gets bandied around far too easily. As soon as someone's viewpoint is in the minority or hard to understand, they get labelled a troll.

Yep, you only have to look at the “likes” to see were the majority of people’s points of view sit.

I think a lot just move on too, the forum is pretty repetative in nature and I think the censorship/moderation is not everyones cup of tea.
Political threads are banned but the bitchiness and squabbling that thier bannning was meant to stop still pervades, it's just the way people are.

Nature of forums at times

It may seem a bit “snidey” at the moment but it’s a huge step from where it was when there was about 6 or 7 political threads going on

The coronavirus thread took a nasty turn but thankfully a mod step in and cleared it up

The football thread will always been snidey etc

The sun is shining , the golf courses are open ,there are lots of other threads where there is some great debate and chat going on

And I’m nearly off work for a week golfing ???‍

Not necessarily, I sometimes throw out likes because I find something amusing but I may not agree 100% with the post.

I don’t why some get some fixated by who likes what posts - I’m the same as you , I like something I agree with or find funny or interesting , but at the end of the day it’s nothing to get hung up about

Unfortunately it is a mirror of life in general. People nowadays seem unable to agree to disagree without hurling insults just because someone questions their point of view. The sensible middle ground doesn’t exist anymore, you are mad lefty or fascist right

Unlike real life, in here, we've got the ignore button which I use liberally and my ignore list grows almost daily.
It's the only way I've lasted 12 years on here.

Good point Bob (if you can read this ) - I've put a few people on ignore because there are some serious trolls on here. But you need assholes in life to appreciate the good people.

It's a lot easier for people to be outraged and show extreme views at a keyboard than it is face-to-face. Many of the things said on here would not be said if the people were facing each other. Unfortunately, extreme views on one side do see anyone disagreeing with them as extremists for the other side. I see some wild statements on here from both the Left and Right. Just because I disagree with them does not make me extreme either way, but some people throw out statements such as "facist", "leftie", etc. as it helps to suit their particular agenda. I think I've only got 2 or 3 on my ignore list, but that is where someone was being argumentative and contrary just for the sake of it, and making ludicrous unfounded statements to get a rise, and I wasn't rising.

I'm not perpetuating anything, man asked question man got answer. Meanwhile you took offence and instead of reporting me you chose to troll around after me, like you are now. If you can't see the irony in that then there really is no hope.
