Through to 3rd round, but how many are there?

Morning chaps.

I had a very solid win on Saturday to get through to the 3rd round of the Matchplay Championship (should have won 5&4 but 3 putted from 8 feet!). Quite happy with my golf, after a dip in form shooting 2 strokes under my handicap was encouraging, but still felt I left a lot of shots out there.

Does anyone know how many rounds there are before the regional championships? I really hope it's not 20+, I quite fancy a trip to Dubai!

I contacted them and in case anyones interested - it's 5 rounds to the regional finals. Bring on round 3!

Isn't this the one that will be televised by Sky (Finals), looks like a well run event, will enter next year.

What section are you in. We are also through, just awaiting the next draw in the Northern section. As someone said I think it is 5 rounds, but then a final regional qualifier (one Northern, one southern) where the best scores go through to Dubai.

We knocked one of the pairs that got through to Dubai last year out in the first round, a lad who I used to play footy with. It's nice to see someone you know who has actually got there previously, to make it slightly more tangible. How weird is that though, all the way last year, out in the first round to someone you know in the following year.
