The top 5 golf courses you have played?

Links:

St Andrews Old Course
Ballyliffin Glashedy
Co. Donegal (Murvagh)
Enniscrone
Castlerock

Parkland:

Slieve Russell
Concra Wood
Blairgowrie Rosemount
Farnham Estate
The Roxburghe

Woburn dukes
Woburn marquess
Wentworth east
Finca Cortesin
Ealing (I love the greens and can't believe the course is where it is)

Got Brabazon, La Reserva and San Roque old in the next few months so list may change.

For me in no partucular order

Birkdale
Lytham
RCD
Portrush
Porthcawl

As you can see, big links fan. Great non links courses though:

St Mellion (Nicklaus)
Monte Rei
San Lorenzo

Not played as many top class courses as most of the people on here but my top 5 that I enjoyed the most: Champions Gate both International and national, Shingle creek, Southerness and Celebration.

Royal County Down
Sunningdale Old
Sunningdale New
Swinley Forest
Hankley Common

1. Turnberry Ailsa (just classic)
2. Druids Glen (really is the "Augusta of Europe", beautiful layout, no expense spared)
3. Traigh (9 holes, cheap as chips but golf as it should be in the most stunning surroundings)
4. Hillside (broke par off the comp tees so will always be special to me)
5. Vilamoura Old Course (both a beautiful course and warm in winter!)

Dishonourable mention: The Addington.

What was wrong with The Addington? I presume you played it in Summer! I found it great, if a touch quirky, in the other seasons, though I'd heard (from the HGP and other HGPs) that the Summer issues had (sort of) been addressed.

The Addington doesn't do it for me either. Nasty bounces, starts with a par 3 and there's a couple of fiddly holes and a couple that don't reward good shots.

Anyway, top 5 in UK & ROI:
Old course at St Andrews
The Marquess at Woburn
The Old course at Sunningdale
Bearwood Lakes
The Montgomerie at Carton House

Worldwide:
Old Corkscrew, Naples, Florida
Blue Canyon, Phuket, Thailand
The Old Course, Vilamoura
Atlantic Beach, Cape Town, South Africa
Alhaurin, Malaga, Spain

Castle Stuart
Royal Dornoch
St Andrews old
Formby
Silloth

Nothing to do with rankings etc, just based on how much I enjoyed them. I probably wouldn't play TOC again but as a one off I though it was pretty special.

I've been pretty sheltered with the courses I've played compared to you lot... so, in no particular order.

Centurion Club
Dunbar
St. Andrews Duke's Course
The Roxburghe
Downfield

In no particular order.

West Hill
Hillside
Centurion
Formby
Moortown

Notable mentions

Wallasey
Frilford Heath
Saunton East
Silloth
Hotchkin

The above would be my top 10
