If you want a borrow of one I have a Scotty Newport I could bring up to Kenilworth next week?

Oh, that would be nice Steve, I could see if I get on with it on the day before making a decision but I did really like the Newport. I'm pretty sure it might have been a Newport 2 I saw, but not a 100%.

Its a 2.5 which long term probably needs reshafting (starting to pitt) and regripping but will give you an idea if you like it at least, will pop it in the bag anyway and you're more than welcome for a borrow

When I started playing again I tried a Scotty and so wanted to like it. Fortunately I founded it dead in the head, and much preferred the Odyssey I bought and still have five years later. Much more feel with it and a third of the price. Over hyped and over priced ?:mmm:

I used a Odyssey ProType Tour Series #2 Putter in the Britain's Best Putting competition last year and it felt very nice. I chose that against all the 2-ball, black coloured and odd looking shapes and it got me through a few good rounds at the Belfry. It will be interesting when I compare how I remember that to the Scotty I'll trial next week.
