Hi all, just wondering how many of you read the other golf mags, and what you think of them? I mainly read GM but occassionaly read TG or GW, and find that they are mainly advertising. So come on then, slag them off as much as you like ;)

I subscribed to Golf International a couple of years ago, just when they sold out for a year to Sky (phh-toooie) and every article seemd to have a Sky bias so I didn't bother resubscribing.

Picked one off the shelf the other day and Sky no longer feature so I might buy a few more of them now as I think the standard of the articles is generally very good.

Yeah, i found TG a waste of money, some of the cr@p inside it is un-real. My club has the national club golfer mags down there, had an quick look through, not too bad imo.

I have to say i like GW always good articles in there, TG i used to hate but have been getting the last few cos it has goten better less tips and thankfully they have got rid of that TG20 feature. I get bunkered too which is a mix of both tips and features but also does a lot of info on home grown players which i like.

And i'd agree with Homer that national club golfer is good but i get the scottish version but my club rarely has it in.

I read golf world. To an extent it's similar stuff. The guest writers, ie poults, ogilvy are a good read, but other than that, broadly similar. My dad gets it, and I get gm, so we swap. Fair do's.

Today's golfer is pants. Smutty. Ugh.

GM all the way for me I pick it up from local news agent every week.

Gutted Gmac seems to have left the team

Some great articles in GW again this month. Brilliant insight in David Feherty. Good interview with Sandy Lyle and great course review on Cruden Bay.

I get Golf Monthly and Today's Golfer each month. Find I enjoy both and wouldn't have a preference or favourite. Think both are similar in standard and I don't regard one as being better than the other

I subscribe to GM and GW. Love them both. They both have a good layout and flow. TG feels bitty and a bit higgledy piggledy for my liking. I do, however, like the amount of courses they review.

I only subscribe to the mags for the free balls, the actual mag is unimportant to me as I rarely do anything other then just flick through really. They are all the same, a bit of serious editorial at the beginning, a few bits of instruction shot by some over paid pro who has a spare hour. Then usually a few pages of new overpriced gear then finished off by reviews of courses. To be honest it isn't the editors or publishers fault. They only have this kind of format to follow. Everything has been covered thousands of times already and they can only rehash and repackage what has already been done.
After the GM Forum page I don't really read anything else.
