TG's issues in my opinion stem from the fact that they can test any number of drivers, irons, putters etc and you know what the top three will be in any particular category. There is no deviance from Ping TM and Callaway with the odd intevention from Mizuno or Titleist. Never a chance another brand like Adams, Benross etc get a look in.
Again I would argue that they have really bigged up MD golf in the past, as the kids say. And one could argue that the other mags are as bad.
As an example, in this months GM the Pro V1 gets 4.5 stars for value at 50 odd quid a pop. And the DX2 gets 4 stars at £25 a pop, despite them pointing out that it's just about as good as balls twice the price. I remember the TM Burner HL, or whatever they are called, getting something like 4 out of 5 for innovation, when the review explicitly stated that there was nothing new to see and little innovation. And GM just happened to be giving away TM Burner HLs that month in a promotion.
And there are so many examples of the usual brands getting the top reviews and no one ever getting a bad review in all mags. I would say at least TG have the balls to rank them in order so they risk offending some brands.
