The Open qualifying...

I think it is. It looks like there's an average of about 12 from each course to go through from this round which would give a final qualifying field of 150 ish which sounds about right?

yes definitely just 1 round to get to local final Darth

cheers fellas, there are 15 places and 18 have 71 or better, do they then have a final play off with the 11 who have 71 and eliminate 3?

Yep, almost certainly be a play off at every venue. Those who lose the play offs tend to go on the reserve list. Remember following one year and must have been 11 or 12 of them in the play off to start

From the entry form.

Ties for last qualifying places in each competition will be decided by hole by hole play-off as soon as practicable after the last players finish their round.

Irrespective of play-off places, reserve places in case of subsequent withdrawals from LFQ will be decided by a card countback, if necessary, from each RQ competition. The card countback will use the second 9 holes or 6 or 3 or 2 or 1 hole and, if a tie still arises, the last 6 or 3 or 2 or 1 hole of the first 9 holes and, if a tie still arises, by the drawing of lots.

In the event of play being incomplete or declared null and void on Monday 24 June, the competition will continue or take place on Tuesday 25 June at the same venue and at the same starting times. In the event of play being declared null and void on Tuesday 25 June, the competition will be cancelled and entrance fees refunded in full. No competitors will go forward from that competition to LFQ.

15 places up for grabs at bruntsfield today, , 12 players on 71 went into a shoot out, ,7 qualified and 5 on the reserve list.

Final qualifying is on links courses I think, Dunbar, north Berwick, gullane 1 and Musselburgh.
