The Masters 2025

Yes, that shot on the 15th. The previous day’s shot was unreal, that time it was to assert some more dominance and take control, showing everyone ‘this is mine’.

Yesterday, to do that after what had unfolded in the 30 minutes, gone from a 4 shot lead to a 3 way tie, the whole world watching, some waiting for him to fail. To contemplate such a wild shot, hitting a huge draw onto a green that had cost him a double bogey 4 days earlier, well, I can’t really put into words how unbelievably good that was. Will be talked about for years.

His shot on 7? The one where he was behind a tree was ridiculous no one could hit that shot … count how long it takes from impact to landing …to travel 150 yards or whatever it was unbelievable

There was someone on 5live last night talking about Harry who knows him and pretty much stated that he is a superb caddy and works very well with Rory , he does a lot of stuff that we don’t notice

You could see them chatting a lot when it come to shot selections and then just general chit chat

Settled him down after 18th told him

“Well you’d have took this on Monday morning”

Think it's the first time I've ever seen a 150 yard flop shot. Look at how violent the recoil was, he gave that everything.

Just saw Bryson's interview.

All I thought was that, had the roles been reversed and McIlroy gave that exact same interview, the knives would have been out for the McIlroy haters.

Just watched it after reading this. I like Bryson, and can see he was feeling raw whilst answering those questions and some of what he said felt phrased in a strange way. I think Lowry was right on what he said a few days ago, the players need a bit of time from finishing their rounds to going infront of the media. Let their adrenaline go down a bit, gather their thoughts, review a few things to almost protect them from saying something they shouldnt/phrased incorrectly.

To be fair, the questions directed at Lowry about McIlroy were completely out of order.

Is this for real….
It’s a complete lack of professionalism, they should be using their expertise to ask questions, to me, it shows there not that competent at their job.

Most journalists know now that to create headlines they need to something to get the clicks

I don’t think it’s right in any sport for them to be grilled so quickly after finishing and then for the journalists to deliberately look to poke

The one with Lowry was very poor

Thrilled for Rory to win. Hopefully it will free him up. Rory in full attack mode is second only to Tiger in modern golf.

I thought Bryson would struggle playing with Rory and that proved to be the case. From the broadcast I got the feeling he was trying to slow things down on the first few holes. But you could see Rory just walking away and watching other things going on. Bryson had got away with fighting a hook with his irons all week. Under the most pressure he cracked and choked once he go the lead.

I felt a bit sorry for Rose. But that was Rory’s time to win.

Yesterday was a great example of why the Masters is the best major. The course creates the moments. They need to put the pin back where it belongs on 16 next year though.

Except the difference is maybe just that Rory wouldn’t have done any media at all — just like he didn’t after his disappointment on Day 1 (source: No Laying Up) and he didn’t when he failed to win at Pinehurst No. 2 in the US Open

No value judgement, just the truth
