The Footie Thread

Saw a post this morning shared on Facebook where some guy had made this exact comment you’ve put on. He said to buy himself and his 2 boys a shirt including postage was something like £250, to buy an exact replica from DHGate including postage was £73.

Football the people sport that’s affordable and accessible to everyone! Yeah right 😂
My days of buying a brand new shirt were finished last decade. Don’t get me wrong I do buy “new” shirts but when they are on sale. Last one was £15. 😁 I just love wearing older shirts. Got to say that some of the new designs look rammel. Especially on a 60 odd year old guy.
I could never buy a copied shirt. But understand why some Folk do.

I mean both opinions can be true. Adults look like knobs in footie kits and they are expensive and over priced. Just because it’s the same people complaining doesn’t make them wrong 🤷🏼
Majority of income comes from corporate sponsors these days and not fans.

Last time I went to Wembley there were more people in the Club Wembley seats and boxes than there were in the main stands.
Of course they can both be true, but what’s it got to do with anyone else what people spend their money on or what they choose to wear?

Live and let live, so long as the money isn’t from illegal means, fill their boots.

If someone is mid 40’s/50’s whatever and wants to buy a footie shirt and then wear it, so what, how does it affect anyone else.

People are quick to judge and like to think their opinion means something.

Not aimed at you, you’ve made your feelings clear on this subject.👍🏻

I agree completely mate it’s nobodies business at all how or where people spend their money. But would a be a boring and empty forum if opinions were not posted or shared 😂

This all day long. When I worked at the pits. Some of the lads were on seriously big money. Not me. Some lads would turn up With a new paid for motorbike. The bitching about “Why waste your money on that” was unreal. The following week the bitching lad would buy a new caravan, and motorbike man would be bitching about “ why waste your money on that”. Sweet lord it drove me barmy. They worked long and hard in a
Rammel Environment. And workmates are Bitching about what you spend your money on. 🫣

Yep, I know some lads up here who’s life is following Sunderland and they are in their 50’s & 60’s, they got every shirt for about the last 20 years and take pride in both wearing the latest and (if given the chance) telling you about them.

Their family don’t go without, the money is above board and one of them takes great pride in him and his grandson wearing the same shirt and scarf to go the games.😂😂

Just perusing a story on the rise of Como football club on the BBC site. 23 years ago I went to Milan for my 40 th birthday. On the Sunday Como were playing at home so we went to watch the game. It is quite simply one of the best places in the world to watch a game. With the alps in the back ground the view is stunning. Just a shame I had food poisoning whilst I was there 😖
