Unless of course those goals are from set pieces

Arsenal have scored more goals from set pieces than any other team across Europes top leagues , think own goals is also one of their top scorers - think it’s 45% of their goals ( set pieces and own goals )

That’s doesn’t make it exciting or entertaining

I’m sure the Arsenal fans wouldn’t care less where the goals come from.

So what, how did those set pieces come about? Was the defence’s struggling with the Arsenal attack and panicing?

None of the stats you’re providing prove Arsenal are playing badly!

I’m sure they won’t - again that wasn’t the point being made

Who said they were playing badly ?

People are talking about the brand of football being forgettable for most and not being the sort of football that would entertain them

Based on what’s being posted I’m assuming no Liverpool fans celebrated winning the League cup against Chelsea in extra time when VVD scored a winner from a corner in an extremely boring game 🤣

Bit surely the point is, Arsenal only need to be entertaining to their fans. Why on earth would anyone else care about a team they don’t support.

I have no care how entertaining (or otherwise) Raith Rovers or Falkirk are.

Of course they celebrated, but that isn't the point.

It is exactly like Man Utd's game yesterday. Us Man Utd fans celebrated like crazy when Sesko scored, whilst also knowing it was one of the most boring games ever seen.

It’s not about stats. It’s about what we see with our own eyes, and how we view it subjectively.
Nope, sorry guys, look at the post I’ve responded to, it was all about the goals and this is quoting you Phil:

“That’s doesn’t make it exciting or entertaining”

To score them goals they must be attacking, ie, defending keeper makes a great save and Arsenal score from the resulting corner, you are using the stats to somehow prove that those goals only come from a forgettable brand of football and not entertaining and makes them somewhat less than a great flowing move or a 35 yarder, sorry to tell you this, but a goal is a goal.

I was being pedantic! And it proves my point what matters is the result. Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon to complain about Arsenal brand of football, yet you’ve acknowledged right there people still celebrate the win regardless.

So as Greig points out the only people that should care about it are Arsenal fans and I reckon they’re pretty happy.

Reading are playing terrible but that same terrible brand of football has taken us from a relegation scrap to the cusp of play off spots. So as a Reading fan crap or not I’m entertained.

Because many football fans watch a whole variety of games and not just their own team

Many like to watch exciting attacking football

Over the decades the Premier league has had a lot of outstanding players and teams that have provided lots of memories and history - the likes of Henry destroying teams etc

People still want to see great football being played

But what’s entertaining is subjective. A non fan isn’t going to be entertained even if they win 3-0.

Dog with bone time again so I’m out of this one. I am not entertained.

Of course they do, I totally agree, but Arsenal have played some great Football at times and scored some great goals, they’ve also had to fight and ground out some results.

No team, absolutely no team ever has constantly played exciting attacking football.

Attacking doesn’t always mean entertaining and exciting to watch

When the likes of Stoke were lumping balls up and trying to force corners etc it wasn’t a brand a football that got people off their seats - it was effective and got the team points but it wasn’t great to watch

Plenty of people still want to see exciting football

I would prefer to watch the football of Klopp in 18-20 than the football Slot played last year

I agree we all want to see great exciting attacking football but it doesn’t always work that way.
I would say at the moment that no team is playing exciting football in the premier league, there are moments from all teams at different times but not consistently.
Also a lot of teams now set up with a defensive block and a lot of players behind the ball making them tough to score against.
Fair play to Arsenal to find a way of scoring more than most while conceding the least.
I would say Arsenal have been at least as entertaining to watch as any other team this season.

It also doesn’t mean boring or forgetable, you still remember Stoke doing it years ago.

But let’s be honest Arsenal are nowhere near playing that style of football and you know that.

I'm not asking for Arsenal to play ay different though. If that is what Arsenal love, then they should absolutely continue what they are doing.

I'm simply saying that me, personally, do not find them entertaining. Other Man Utd fans will feel the same, others will not. Same with Liverpool fans or any other fans. Personal preference.

I felt Arsenal were actually much more entertaining a season or so ago, ironically when they had no stand out striker. And I still think Declan Rice is absolute quality, and their keeper is excellent. So I'm not trying to hammer Arsenal any way I can.

I've heard some Arsenal fans moan a lot about their own team and being critical of how they play, but I've zero idea what the overall general feeling would be, compared to what one would expect for title contending fans.

To a lesser extent, we have seen it at West Ham, whose fans generally hated how they played under Moyes, even as they won a trophy. They were happy to take the risk of playing more attacking football, a risk that seems to have, so far, backfired.

That’s the whole point , right now it’s just not very entertaining as a league to watch compared to a number of times in the past

maybe we got a bit spoilt with Pep and Klopp just going at each other and producing on the whole a lot of very good football

Now a lot more of the more entertaining games are coming from teams further down the league

But the main point that the current Arsenal team and their brand of football won’t be one that’s remembered by many or be seen along the likes of Wengers Arsenal for example

I would agree up to a point.
It’s very difficult for any team to play exciting attacking football though if the opposition are just set up to be defensive.
That is happening a lot against Arsenal this season (as well as other teams) and they have been the best at finding a way around it.

Personally I quite like when teams get corners and find that part of football can be very entertaining.

The Everton United game Monday I found interesting when Everton had a corner both with their approach to trying to score and Uniteds to not conceding.
