Still can’t make my mind up on Gyokeres, a lot of effort from him, but some of it seems misdirected.

Gabriel Jesus with his experience would be better suited for this game imo.

He's not good enough to be starting for a top side IMO. I assumed he was signed to be an impact player off the bench and offer something different but for some reason Arteta is building the attack around him. He's done OK though and certainly doesn't deserve a lot of stick he gets.

Big finish for him today but it was a chance you'd expect any striker or attacking player to tuck away.

If spurs fans aren't genuinely worried at this point, they really should be. Both West Ham and Forest will know they are reachable.
If recent form continues, it won't even be close. Spurs will be at least 5 or 6 points from safety at end of season.

They are abysmal. It feels they are almost worse than Wolves have been this season.

Meanwhile, Forest and West Ham look to have a spark and fight about them.

Spurs have so many injuries. Their new manager hasn't got a bounce in this game, and hard to see them going into the next with any excitement.

Bet they score 3 in last 10 mins now

I’m hoping Liverpool are buoyed by today, knowing they’re within reach of top 4 and find some form as they play a few of the teams around us.

We’ve got city shortly but Brighton are beatable, so that’s a massive game next weekend.

I hate this stress. Worrying about which European competition we’d be playing in was much more enjoyable 😂

Theo Walcotte is a great pundit. Apparently Eze plays best when he is smiling. I mean, I'd have thought he smiles when he plays well, but what would I know.

Rare that I feel Jamie Redknapp is the best of the two pundits on the screen

Agreed.
But he is currently joint 5th for goals scored with Calvert-Lewin & Ekitike on 10 goals.
Not great after 27 games.
I don’t think Haaland has helped new strikers coming into the league.
People see the numbers he has posted so far and make comparisons and forget Haaland is breaking records consistently as well as playing with the best side in the league.

Agree to an extent in that Haarland is exceptional. Arsenal are currently top of the table though, so perhaps Gyokeres is the one playing in the best side in the league?

I'm not sure they play to his strengths though, oddly, so that doesn't help him.

Hugely disappointing to see multiple reports of racist behaviour towards players on social media

Fofana posted multiple messages from his own fans with racist abuse

By best side I meant over the time Haaland has been at City.
Gyokores I don’t think takes the penalties either so I would say just going by his record he has done fairly well so far for his first season.

I do wonder though if Haaland had gone to Madrid for example would we rate some of the other strikers that have been signed better than we currently do

But still better than most strikers in the league - and they don't seem to get any bad comments on here 🤔
I think if you are a striker that plays for the lower table clubs like Burnley, Wolves, Palace, Everton, etc. then you could be a stinking striker, but no one really cares apart from their own fans. After all, it is half expected. Or they have poor players around them, so it is expected as being difficult for the striker. Or they didn't cost a huge transfer fee, so you won't be judged as critically.

If you are a striker playing for a big club, and cost decent money, then you'll be in the spotlight. Delap at Chelsea is getting a lot of criticism. The jury is out on Sesko, but he has scored a few important goals lately, and a lot of the spotlight has been on the likes of Cunha and Mbeumo coming into the club as well. Of Sesko was Utd's only big signing in the summer, he may have faced much more criticism. Solanke doesn't get much criticism because the entire Spurs side has been garbage, so it would be pointless putting much blame solely towards their strikers.

Gyokores signed for a title contender, previously scored a crazy number of goals, it was said Arsenal's missing link was a No. 9 and he cost a lot of money. So, he was always going to get pelters if he wasn't scoring a high number of goals in a high scoring team. Even though we'd all agree he'd probably walk into the first team at other PL clubs like Wolves, Burnley, Everton, etc. I also picked him in my Draft Fantasy Football Team, so he has frustrated me for most of the season :)

Gyokores hmmm ah yes I remember him , Brighton flop and dumped . 😁
Did well abroad against poor sides compared to the prem sides .soon to be sold by the gunners as not fit for purpose in my opinion.
Jury is out for me
