Chelsea fan, I thought it was a foul - but the referee missed a foul on Palmer which led to the incident in the first place.

The referee was terrible all night. Let Arsenal get away with all their persistent fouling, Saliba and Gabriel especially at it all game. I thought he looked out of his depth.

Arsenal are such a poor footballing team, I really have been shocked over the 2 legs just how little they want a game of football to break out. If we had half an ounce of quality in front of goal, we may have been able to get a result.

To be fair this is Arsenal's 4th choice comp and it doesn't mean much to them. They rotated, parked the bus in both games and ended winning both games. That says more about Chelsea than anything.

We must’ve watched a different game or you’ve watched with tinted specs. It wasn’t just Arsenal that were persistent fouling, Chelsea were at it all game a well and got away with so many.

Chelsea were also equally as bad football wise sitting deep with every one behind the ball no doing enough to win a game that they were already behind in. As a neutral it was a poor watch in general but it was Chelsea who needed to be the aggressor in terms of going into the game needing a win Arsenal just needed to not lose with a rotated squad. Chelsea didn’t do enough to break that down instead sitting back and hoping for the best.

Gonna be a tough night tonight without three of our best players.

Hopefully we'll adopt a more positive attitude than Chelsea did last night, without going totally gung ho, in which case we'll get picked off easily. (We may get picked off easily anyway but as long as we adopt a positive but intelligent approach that will be fine).

most PL players don't live in Liverpool.
they live in Southport or Alderly Edge.
I'll be spending next week a regular par 5 away from VVD and Gakpo in Knutsford. Pickford is a mile or two away in Mere.

The days of players living close to their club are long gone. Better road links, big cars, they don't mind a 40 minute drive to training if it means they can live exactly where they want to.

This has quickly become a pointless match to watch
Indeed.
Eddie Howe has got this absolutely wrong tonight. The formation has left them wide open, City are in everyone they get the ball. Might go to bed at half time there’s nothing left to watch for.
Dont think its the formation....its a lack of discipline from Botman keeping pushing forward and leaving gaping holes for the City players to run into. Its OK for the front 3 and a couple of midfielders to press but there needs to be some cover to gaurd against City turning the ball over and rampaging forward.

Like I said earlier...needed to be positive without being gung ho....some players didn't get that message.

why doesnt Elanga get the ball across early??????????

set pieces are truly awful

i thought we got a specialist dead ball coach onboard in the summer....must have got him from Temu.
