I reckon if he had played for Liverpool you would rate him as the best player of all time.Irrelevant to who he played with
And talking more than just someone’s football ability

We get this all the time with Club loyalty though, last week it was Bruno Fernandes and some Utd fans saying his whinging is passion etc, same people who slag off Richarlison for whinging.I reckon if he had played for Liverpool you would rate him as the best player of all time.
Didn’t miss the point the 1st time or this time thank you.Again missing the point, not just about someone as a footballer
Messi for me is the better player
Ronaldo the better goalscorer
Didn’t miss the point the 1st time or this time thank you.
Your opinion of him is based on the fact he played for Manchester United is the point I’m making.
Why is your opinion on how good a footballer someone is based on their personality? And would you be so quick to highlight why you don't rate Suarez so highly as a footballer based on his character traits? My opinion is based on nothing to do with Man Utd![]()
i think you meant Gareth Barry. There is quite a bit of talk about James Milner equalling the PL appearance record this weekend, equalling Gary Speed with 653 appearances. Given that Brighton seem to be subbing him on for a couple of minutes at a time, does this make a bit of a mockery of the record? Should we be looking at PL starts and not just appearances? If we did, Milner would be way down the list as he has only been a starter in 2/3 of the matches he has played in.

Maybe it should be done in minutes actually played.(which might still be him for all I know). There is quite a bit of talk about James Milner equalling the PL appearance record this weekend, equalling Gary Speed with 653 appearances. Unless it is Ronaldo when he gets picked for PortugalDon’t think it makes a mockery of it
a player is still coming onto the pitch to make an appearance
Can only applaud someone to keep playing at the top level at that age
Exactly the same with international caps. A player could be the most capped in history and yet they may only get a minute at the end in each gameThere is quite a bit of talk about James Milner equalling the PL appearance record this weekend, equalling Gary Speed with 653 appearances. Just had a quick look at his last few PL seasons:Maybe it should be done in minutes actually played.(which might still be him for all I know).
He has been a very good player and won a lot of things but he doesn’t really contribute much on the pitch anymore.
It’s a bit like the 2nd keeper who gets a winner medal when his team wins the league when he has sat on the bench all year.
He has always been used as a squad player that can play very well in a lot of different positions.Just had a quick look at his last few PL seasons:
Brighton
25/26: 14 appearances, average 22 mins per match
24/25: 4 appearances, 43 mins per match
23/24: 15 appearances, 52 mins per match
Liverpool
22/23: 31 appearances, 29 mins per match
21/22: 24 appearances, 35 mins per match
20/21: 26 appearances, 41 minutes per match
19/20: 22 appearances, 42 minutes per match
18/19: 31 appearances, 58 minutes per match
17/18: 32 appearances, 55 minutes per match
16/17: 36 appearances, 88 mins per match
It seems like he was very well used in 16/17. That dropped a lot for the next 2 seasons, amd significantly since 2019/2020. He has been well rested, I reckon he'll be able to keep making appearances until he is 50![]()
