Its not a competition though is it?
Our wives, kids and ourselves put up with a lot of disgraceful treatment whilst serving, but it doesn’t lessen the turmoil others go through in their lives.

As a couple they’ve had some awful times with her health over the last few years and maybe they saw this as a chance of a fresh start and to put that behind them.

No doubt some will dismiss her comments as apparently money makes it ok.

This isn’t aimed at you personally, just a general comment.
I certainly don’t take it personally and my reply was merely a response to the previous posters.

I don’t think anyone should down play mental health of anyone regardless of what that earn or what they do. Everyone is susceptible to it , those on here and social media saying she or her husband shouldn’t get sympathy as they’re well paid or shouldn’t suffer imo are disgraceful people. I know that’s a strong opinion but I’d standby it and say it to them, just because someone is well of financially and haven’t been made homeless doesn’t give anyone the right to treat them badly or disrespect their mental well being.

Parish should be held accountable for the way he treats people it’s not the first instance of this with him, I hope McNeill and his wife pull together get the support needed work through this next few months and then get the fresh start they’re seeking.

I think that's the key point. Nobody is worried they'll go hungry. It is more to highlight the fact players are treated like meat, which i think most of us agree with anyway?

I'm guessing Palace were interested in him. Talks began, Palace did the big sales pitch. You'll love it here, you'll be a key player, we'll give you great money for a good length contract. All comforting for a guy in his mid to late 20's (?).

Talked it through with his partner. They must have both agreed to go for it. Probably really excited for the new challenge, new environment. Made plans, talked about it with friends and family, and built it up in their minds.

Then Palace simply dont fill in the paperwork, give you the silent treatment, and the life you thought you'd have is no longer. Sure, he still has 18 months on his contract at Everton, but doesn't help much when your mind had already expected, and hoped for a different future.

Will happen to many players at different clubs. You'd like to think a lot of clubs would at least communicate with players, treat them like humans, when things dont go to plan. But I expect others just dont bother.
I would think it’s a major decision to make and takes a lot of thinking about particular when involving children as well as maybe parents/grandparents.
I do wonder though how much time they had to make that decision?
It’s not like they have 6 months or whatever to consider everything, to my knowledge Palace only came in on deadline day so they didn’t have much time to decide let alone check out new schools or houses etc.

To then make the decision of yes let’s go for it and not even hear anything must be very difficult and emotionally challenging and that is when she has posted.
It’s nice to see these people with lots of money are humans too and go through the same emotions as the rest of us.
Good luck to the both of them.

I think you're forgetting just how good Kalvin Philips was around 2019-2022. He was one of the first names on the England teamsheet for quite a while and had a brilliant Euro 2020. He was even voted England's Player of the Year. City were looking to freshen up the midfield and he would've obviously been expected to play alongside Rodri.

Worth a move but he didn't seem that keen to get out and play regular football again. I think Sidwell was one of the first young players to make a move to a big club for money, killed his career for a few years but he ended up doing well at Fulham.
Lol, Phillips was never that great. He looked decent in a Leeds side that was completely built around him as the deep-lying playmaker. He got into the England side due to paucity of other options. And he was clearly always going to be Rodri's back-up and a plus one for the homegrown quota.

Apparently they had 48hrs from when the bid was accepted, he’d been to London etc for the medical.🤷‍♂️

That is not a lot of time to make a life changing decision.
To be totally honest I have no idea about his family but if they have kids and possible older/unwell parents then it’s even harder to make the decision.

It takes me an hour to decide if I want sugar puffs or shreddies in the morning.

That makes it even worse from Parish and the Palace hierarchy if true. In that time they’d have got their hopes up, looked as much as they could in a short time at schools and areas to reside. So no wonder she posted what she did and feels let down.

Whilst not a lot of time to make a big decision it’s certainly long enough to commit to one when they’re needing a fresh start and something they may have looked forward to.

Phillips was never a playmaker, he was a defensive midfielder with a decent pass and at most box to box under Bielsa. A deep lying playmaker is someone that rarely runs and controls the game.

He was quality for England but at the time it was wrong to play two similar players in Henderson and Phillips, so he got in more on Southgate's negative approach 👀

I don't understand why that takes an hour. The answer is obviously Sugar Puffs, every time 🤷

In terms of the key point, it's the life of a footballer. They know the score. It's hard at times but it comes with its rewards. Obviously there will be downsides at times, this was one of them. I think the post was an error, written at a low point. Done now.

In hindsight she may regret that she posted anything but although it is the life of a footballer it still shows they are humans as well.

You need to try half and half for breakfast it’s a game changer

Think that about sums it up for me

It’s a career that they are all aware of that clubs see them as a commodity that they can sell when it suits the club and sometimes those moves work out and some don’t

Palace not talking to him why it didn’t work isn’t great optics at all

Suspect the Everton lads will get round him and make sure it’s all ok

The rewards doesn’t give those holding said rewards the right to treat someone with so little respect.

Everything you say should not be treated with any seriousness from now on after that comment.

Sugar Puffs!!!!? Seriously?

What about golden grahams
Never tried them 🤷. I have a very sweet tooth so do my best to avoid stuff that I know I'll love but will have my teeth falling out. These fall right into this category 😄.

My actual go to are the sort of blueberry wheat things, not far off from shreddies to be fair. Shreddies on their own are like cardboard

One of the joys of the occasional bowl of Sugar Puffs is the wonderful image in my head of the Honey Monster when you eat them. Great 😊
