Newcastle having "one of those nights" at home to a committed Leeds side.

Can see the ref sending a Toon player off in the second half given how the players are reacting to some possible "injustices". Need to get their collective heads together after getting back into the match (after initially going behind after an awful defensive error from the usually reliable Thiaw) and then falling behind to a late penalty for handball (one of those where the decision either way, wouldnt be overturned by VAR).

Hopefully Newcastle can inject the same sort of intensity in the 2nd half that they did in the latter stages of the first. After picking up two wins in the last two games it would be a travesty not to back that up with, at least a performance, that shows significant intention to make it three wins in a row.

The ref in the Everton game looks about 18 years old, and I bet his heart rate is about 180. Just sent off Grealish, Everton down to 9.

Two reds, one for hair pulling, one for sarcastic clapping (second yellow)

To be fair by the rules of the game he’s got both of those decisions right!

Definitely the Grealish one.

I get the Keane one, but he didn't really seem to aggressively try and jerk guys head back. He let go. It was like an instinctive hold, like they would a shirt, just to command his space, without much desire to pull the player.

But, given the tensions after that, I bet he really wished no Everton players would be an idiot and force him to make another big decision. Then Grealish did that

Both are the correct decision by the letter of the law so he’s spot on. I do agree with you there was no malice or real aggression on the pull but it’s refreshing to see a Ref apply the rule as it’s should be and not take crap off the players after.

Grealish was then just stupid doing what he always does whining at the ref and good to see he’s not getting away with it for a change.

TBF, it’s another example of VAR getting right.

Grealish generally 'whines' because he is constantly fouled with little consequence. The back of his calves must be black and blue after every game. Saying that, tonight was a heads gone moment and it nearly cost us.

Poor evening. Good first half but we didn't test their keeper enough. We should have put wolves away, we didn't.

Second half, we let wolves back in, let their confidence grow. Mane is a star for them, great to watch.

The Keane incident was weird. I don't think it was malicious but you see it on replay and I don't think the ref has a choice. Game totally changes and we end up being grateful for a point.

A sticky last couple of games 😞

Pulling hair isnt automatically a red, it is down to the referees judgement as to the force used.

I wouldnt argue against the red too much, it was his subjective call. I just think I'd have made a different call, as I didnt think the force could be classed as violent conduct

Nice when someone can be subjective when talking about their own team, refreshing.
