Well I think the stat is actually wrong
And it also includes games across all formats including Europe , cup games and even pre season friendly
So its a stat that’s as relevant as Arsenals “most points in a calender year” one - irrelevant

The stat isn’t wrong a quick google tells you games lost in 2025:

That doesn’t account for pre season friendlies! That’s competitive games only factoring in league, cup and Europe.
I do however agree it’s a pointless irrelevant stat and what went on before the start of this season doesn’t matter

After finishing 3rd in his first season, we can all remember the ridiculing ETH got in his second season, media and (mainly opposition) fans as things didn't start so well. A big argument from a well known (and presumably objective and unbiased) Liverpool fan in here was that ETH had taken the club backwards in his second season.
Well, I wonder if the same arguments can be objectively applied to Slot now, with nearly 1/3 of the season gone? Especially with the investment that has happened, in both new players coming in and retaining older players (albeit losing TAA because they thought he'd just sign for them eventually). Can we blame Slot for the players that have been purchased, or the amount of money that has been spent on them? And/or can we blame Slot for not being able to get them to play well as a team?
Liverpool are 8th now. If they stay 8th, is that enough for Slot to get sacked? That was exactly the position Utd finished in 23/24 (were higher for much of the season, but dropped to 8th in last few games after Chelsea had a great run). Is going from 1st to 8th a bigger backwards step than 3rd to 8th? Is now the right time for Southgate to become Liverpoll manager, and steady the ship?

It’s good to see a player in this era put his club first
Imo he is a player that brings so much energy to the team and right now prob deserves to get more starts

Yet when Ben White did the same thing he got pelters from the the entire English fan base saying he should be ashamed of himself for refusing a call up and should never be allowed to even be considered for another one again.
Does putting your club above country only make it good if your not English !

Very true but he has shown more than enough to imo warrant starting more games , he has made an impact , an under valued player for us
Staying behind to continue working on his fitness for the club imo is commendable, once is at a better level then he will be back with Italy

Both him and the Italian manager explained it , with all the added travelling etc he didn’t feel he was ready to play for his country until he was fully fit for both , not sure what the issue with the travelling is though
He has rushed back before and set him back

He’s not playing though for Liverpool.
I would have thought he would relish the chance of some game time on the pitch instead of the bench!
So there’s no rush in first class.
Other players travel a lot more than to Italy.

Unless he plays for Italy and then has another set back , understand he is a strict fitness program with the club and a trainer and he wont go away until that’s 100% been done
He has missed a lot over the last 3 years with injury so can understand why he is being careful right now - we will need him during the Afcon
