But how many jobs give free meals?
Why should working for a football club mean you get free food?
Complete agree. Just because someone works there why should they get free food!

Also why should the players give anything back just because of what they earn doesn’t mean they should be forced to pay for someone else’s lunch. We all cut out cloth accordingly and feed ourselves.

Plenty of better causes to give money to imo.

And don’t get me started on NHS workers getting discounts on things 🤦‍♂️

Think the puzzling thing that happened was when Ratcliffe announced all the redundancies at the club and was claiming that the club were in financial dire straits and there was “no money left” - a few months later spending £250mil in the transfer window

He’s a business man.
They tend to be tight.
And if he saw money needlessly being spent,I’m guessing he didn’t like it.
Because it’s at a big football club it obviously gets hi lighted.
But in reality it happens everyday at other businesses.

Phil, we’ve done this already. Manchester United FC, as a club, were in a bit of a state. Red Football, the side of the club involved with what goes on out on the pitch, is not.

I don’t find that puzzling at all. I find it more puzzling that other people do!

Any multi national business funds should be set aside for acquisitions, expenditures that contribute to growth and continue output of a business. The rest of the money that goes to overheads and wages of its basic administrative running should separate No different to a on a smaller scale and expenditure and income sheet a golf club should have a available at an AGM to show its members. Essentially showing what it needs to run and stay afloat and what it needs to continue growth and improvement.

Difference being Ratcliffe didn’t hide his intentions he was upfront and showed what it costs to run Man Utd the business was excessive and needed to cut jobs that weren’t essential to the running therefore saving money to run the business better that then allows the football expenditures to be maximised. Like I said I don’t find it puzzling only those seeking to vilify what he’s done or feeling sorry for people losing jobs that aren’t essential seem to find it so imo or those seeking to continually mock or belittle Utd!

Wondered if an England manager would ever look to make changes and give others a go during friendlies

Would seem to be the perfect game to see how the likes of MGW would do

Are they just too scared to even want to lose a friendly
Not saying I disagree.
But not sure MGW is the best example.

He’s not exactly pulling up any trees so far this season.

Yes, it is puzzling. To a person who has no idea how to run a football club, or a business.

I agree. As I said, a free lunch is a perk, not a right.

But, if people are so outraged that staff are made redundant (ignoring whether there are too many staff), or they no longer get free lunches (does this happen at other clubs), then maybe they should focus less on the ones running the club. If they keep.talking about well paid players, maybe they should expect players to make a small contribution for perks. Though don't be critical if they don't, especially if players at other clubs don't do it.

Do they charge the players for their food and drinks ?

After all they work there.

I’m guessing not, they probably look at it as fuelling the players to get the best out of them.
The cleaners aren’t going to get the same treatment as the prize assets.
Same as any top business.

I would worry about what he says to the media

“‘Most profitable” - surely he should be saying the “most successful”

And I don’t know an owner in the sport who seems to speak to the media so much

Been there nearly 2 years now and very hard to see what positive difference he has made to the club - his track record in the sport appears to be continuing on a downward trend
