I'm genuinely surprised he's gone back. If they've sacked him twice how can you feel any level of security? Or does he just accept the money and the inevitable payoff?

In terms of payoffs, I had read that sometimes you will continue to be paid as per your contract until you take your next job. If that is the case here, it definitely suits Sheffield Utd to bring him back, in financial terms.
I mean, it is a well-paid gig, I'd probably do the same. Just negotiate a bit more each time as I said above. Nothing to lose really.

That was my thinking.
I think sometimes they agree to pay out part of your contract.

That’s probably why Potter took so long to get another job.

Imagine getting sacked & still getting £200k+ every week 😂

Self respect and being seen as someone that’s happy to be walked over when something not even better but different comes along! He’s becoming the football management version of a Cuck!
His last salary at Sheff Utd was reported to be around £2.7 million per year. Perhaps Chris Wilder would say no if he was being offered jobs at other clubs, similar or more money.

But, if he isn't, I don't blame him for agreeing to do the job again, for that sort of money. I would happily allow a club to walk all over me, if they were paying me £2.7 million a year.

No thanks going back once maybe but not a 2nd time. Self respect and pride is important and his pay off would have covered that. But to each his own 👌

Think he does have a connection with the fans there

But it’s always good for the money

Utd made public their interest for Baleba. No doubt they looked at several options along the way. Perhaps Anderson was one of them. But, the door perhaps closed on some of their options before the news even went public. Maybe the player not interested, too expensive, not available with many years left on their contract, etc.

No idea if they ever showed any interest in Anderson, or how much he'd have cost if he was available. Baleba was around £100 million apparently, too steep for Man Utd.

They showed a stat before last nights game, showing how Utd are the No 1 (sometimes No.2 team in the league), so far this season, in creating chances.. They just haven't been taking them. A big part of that is the impact Cunha and Mbeumo have had, along with the fact Mount got off to a good start. However, we have not yet seen this translate to chances created for our No. 9. Mainly because he has only come off the bench in a few games, and got his first league start away to City.
The problem Man U have now is can they afford a top class midfielder?
Anderson, Wharton or Baleba will probably be out of their price range at the next window.
That’s begs the question who’s in charge of recruiting at United because there in a mess now.

I think Baleba and Wharton are the next two CM’s that will be on the move - been reported that we are looking at Wharton

Baleba looks a very good player and United were heavily linked to him to the point Brighton are saying it’s affected him at the moment , he is going to cost a small fortune - at least what they got for Caicedo

Until then Man Utd’s best option is to go for a three in the middle - Mainoo plus one more and Fernandes in a ten role
Looking at Wharton bloody hell Arthur you can’t get everyone😉
Surprised he’s not had a big move yet.

No idea how much money they will have available to spend.

They obviously make huge amounts beyond prize money and being successful.

But, lack of success will cause a significant dent in what they could have earned. And they obviously are rubbish at making a decent return on selling players

So, I suspect the board will work much much harder at buying players who are likely to have a resell value if things don't work out so well. Players who they don't have to pay £300,000+ a week to, or even £200,000+.

But, I hope the Club stand firm in what they are willing to pay, rather than agreeing to pay high fees when clubs, players and agents add the "Utd Tax". I know money may be the only reason some will come to Utd, but not a motivation I'm comfortable with.

Not sure if true, but apparently Man Utd are looking at playing midweek friendly games abroad during champions league weeks.

With Eze leaving i didn’t expect them to let him go and he has a long contract until I think 2029

Also doesn’t help that he keeps getting niggling injuries at the moment

But when fit he is an international player

But if Utd don’t pay “the Utd tax” as you call it they won’t get the type of player they need.
Man Unt will always pay over the top for players just because they are one of the biggest clubs in world football.

Crazy the amount of money they have wasted on players wages that never fulfilled their potential.

Well, I wont pay too much attention to that until announced by reputable sources. Not heard that rumour, but Google suggests it has been mentioned on Daily Mirror?

I mean, that sort of thing would never surprise me that much. On one hand, it just puts loads more pressure on injuries. On the other, it gives players more game time and may improve sharpness.

But not sure how much money friendlies could genuinely generate? Unless Saudi Arabian clubs are willing to pay a fortune for the publicity

That was my first thought.
Would probably generate more money than being in the Champions league.

I did read it on twitter,so a good chance it’s 🐂 💩
