I mean, it is a well-paid gig, I'd probably do the same. Just negotiate a bit more each time as I said above. Nothing to lose really.

That was my thinking.
I think sometimes they agree to pay out part of your contract.

That’s probably why Potter took so long to get another job.

Imagine getting sacked & still getting £200k+ every week 😂

His last salary at Sheff Utd was reported to be around £2.7 million per year. Perhaps Chris Wilder would say no if he was being offered jobs at other clubs, similar or more money.

But, if he isn't, I don't blame him for agreeing to do the job again, for that sort of money. I would happily allow a club to walk all over me, if they were paying me £2.7 million a year.

No thanks going back once maybe but not a 2nd time. Self respect and pride is important and his pay off would have covered that. But to each his own 👌

The problem Man U have now is can they afford a top class midfielder?
Anderson, Wharton or Baleba will probably be out of their price range at the next window.
That’s begs the question who’s in charge of recruiting at United because there in a mess now.

No idea how much money they will have available to spend.

They obviously make huge amounts beyond prize money and being successful.

But, lack of success will cause a significant dent in what they could have earned. And they obviously are rubbish at making a decent return on selling players

So, I suspect the board will work much much harder at buying players who are likely to have a resell value if things don't work out so well. Players who they don't have to pay £300,000+ a week to, or even £200,000+.

But, I hope the Club stand firm in what they are willing to pay, rather than agreeing to pay high fees when clubs, players and agents add the "Utd Tax". I know money may be the only reason some will come to Utd, but not a motivation I'm comfortable with.

Not sure if true,but apparently Man Utd are looking at playing midweek friendly games abroad during champions league weeks.

With Eze leaving i didn’t expect them to let him go and he has a long contract until I think 2029

Also doesn’t help that he keeps getting niggling injuries at the moment

But when fit he is an international player

But if Utd don’t pay “the Utd tax” as you call it they won’t get the type of player they need.
Man Unt will always pay over the top for players just because they are one of the biggest clubs in world football.

Crazy the amount of money they have wasted on players wages that never fulfilled their potential.

Well, I wont pay too much attention to that until announced by reputable sources. Not heard that rumour, but Google suggests it has been mentioned on Daily Mirror?

I mean, that sort of thing would never surprise me that much. On one hand, it just puts loads more pressure on injuries. On the other, it gives players more game time and may improve sharpness.

But not sure how much money friendlies could genuinely generate? Unless Saudi Arabian clubs are willing to pay a fortune for the publicity

Would probably generate more money than being in the Champions league.

I did read it on twitter,so a good chance it’s 🐂 💩
