Parish had said a while ago that he would rather sell the player now than let him walk for nothing as there was no chance he was signing a new contract.
The problem Palace had was that they didn't get the replacements in early enough, which the manager didn't like.
It's easy to see both sides of the arguement
That’s fine, all I’m saying is it’s Palaces prerogative to keep their player for another season even if they know he’ll leave on a free next season.
If he has another good season he’ll be able to demand bigger wages as there’ll be no fee for him.
Maybe he’ll have other clubs fighting for his signature.

I'm not argueing against that. It was the owner, Parish, that said he wanted to sell him rather than let him run his contract down and walk for free.

Obviously things changed.
Liverpool will probably be disappointed that Guehi didn’t “do a Isak” as let’s be honest, that played out just as they hoped it would.

That’s me done on this subject 👍🏻

This guy has had a very bad window but this is a really poor take

Regardless of what Isak did once the season finished to ensure he got a move to start make accusations that he was trying to ensure the club didn’t qualify for the CL is really poor from a supposed journalist

Edit - seems like Isaks team are looking at legal options

He’s a journalist,it’s what they do.
99% of what they write is 🐂 💩.

They then rely on people doing exactly what you have, sharing it & discussing it.

Im not disappointed in the way he has acted, Im rather pleased. He's showed integrity, which is something sadly missing from much of society.

Good move from him backing Newcastle. It will get him more respect from the fanbase and within the club.

Team Isak will find legal options hard to prove, especially when it won't impact him financially. His best bet is to shut up and get on with playing football, something he hasn't bothered doing so far this season.

I find it highly unlikely that Isak will be taking legal actions against any journalist, there’d be more cases than Man City currently have 😂
He’ll be wanting to put all this behind him & concentrate on his football.
It’s probably just social media gossip imo.

Haha very true.

You're spot on about journo's generally, most these days are about outrageous takes, clickbait and engagement.

Hi I am not trying to start an argument but what’s your feelings on how your management have treated Geuhi?

Given how he conducted himself through this !

Ive got sympathy for Marc. He fancied the move to Liverpool and we had told him he could go if we found a suitable replacement and both Glasner and Parish have said that.

We didn't though and therefore for me he had to stay. I think Marc, as long as he knows we tried as hard as we could to replace him, will understand that. Our first choice pulled a hamstring and also apparently lost a bit of interest when we lost our Europa place,.the next one from Milan relied on them signing a replacement (Gomez apparently) so that fell down and the 3rd choice at the last minute demanded a guaranteed starting place which apparently West Ham were willing to provide and we were not. Left us with no replacement and Parish decided to pull it. He also wanted to reduce the risk of Glasner leaving and with no replacement he might have walked (the stories that Glasner pulled the deal are compelte rubbish by the way as are so many of the stuff we are fed. There are press saying Marc may rip up his contract, hand in the captaincy or down tools, all complete rubbbish). Marc understands how it all works and will bide his time. We will be offering him a huge new contract with a low release clause soon in the hope he signs it, which might get us some money for him when he does go, but even if he does not keeping Marc is worth a lot of money and gives us a great chance to have another decent year.

You lot moan about Referees and VAR, the officiating down the pyramid is like the Wild West!😁😁

Aldershot keeper last night comes out to clear a ball. Attacker gets there after he's kicked it and cleans him out. Red card.... for the keeper.

I'd love to hear the chat when that appeal is reviewed.

There a few things that a bit strange about it all

Parish accepted the bid and allowed the player to speak to Liverpool and take a medical etc , the deal was all done for the player and the club put in the deal sheet which needed to be signed by both clubs before 6 pm

They had a CB at the club during the day getting the deal done - why wouldn’t he be playing regular football if he was the replacement for Guehi ?

Also the owner going missing during the day ?

I can understand if it was too late to sort out a transfer on the last day so they just turn down the bid straight away but Parish didn’t

Imo he wanted the deal done to ensure the club get money for him , the manager has thrown his toys out with threats of quits and Parish has succumbed to that at the last minute - Glasner is leaving at the end of the season anyway , he won’t care what happens next season , also if he got offered a big job today he would jump ship straight away

Guehi comes across as a top professional and he is imo going to continue to give his all but there will be no doubt he will be livid missing out on the transfer and I don’t expect there is any chance he will sign any contract with the club especially after what just happened

Presumably Palace knew there was a chance they could replace Guehi on the last day, so they were happy to accept Liverpool's offer, so that if Palace get in the replacement at the last minute, the Guehi deal could happen. But, it was always on conditional on them getting the replacement. As that didn't happen, Guehi stayed.

It doesn't seem that strange, it seems very logical. If Liverpool were desperate to get Guehi and get him in well before deadline day, they could have tried to increase their offer, making it high enough that Palace couldn't turn it down. But, Liverpool didn't want to do that, and were happy to risk leaving it until the last moment. And risks don't always work out for the best, which is why it is a risk.
