The irony is that you don’t realise that my digs in the post re West Ham’s council house jibe actually come from Utd fans. Did you not know that Utd fans regularly call City for playing in ā€œ the council houseā€.
Furthermore did you know that when City planned to name a Stand after famous player the Utd fans hijacked the vote to name the stand the Colin Bell stand so they could call it the Bell end.
I have never been upset with The Etihad being called the council house or actually sitting in the Bell end.
So why get upset coz your ground is called the swamp. So Utd fans are touchy because they have been poor for 10 years. Seriously try being a City fans for 30 odd years and being on the end of ā€œ Banterā€. It was hilarious when Utd had there
ā€œ counterā€ up in the stadium for how many years City had not won a trophy. Did City fans come on here getting upset saying they had had enough.
Re defend my club with rose tinted glasses. Er I don’t think so. The Glaziers are poor at Utd. But try having Peter Swales and franny Lee as owners. Sweet lord it was purgatory.
I will sing the praises of my club and say when they are Rammel.
But through rose tinted glasses at 62 yr old. Seriously. I have seen enough rubbish football over the years to be a bit more sincere when things are going well. šŸ‘

I can vouch for this. My mates used to belt out classics such as 'What a waste of council tax, we paid for your grouuuuund' and 'The council house is never full unless you're playing Man United' back in the day šŸ˜…

At least they have stopped selling restricted view seats.šŸ˜‚

I don't know whether it's an unpopular opinion but for me Everton's new ground doesn't have the wow factor apart from the outside and location. Inside it just looks off to me. The big home end looks way too vertical and the way it joins with the side stands just look like an after thought. The other end looks too small as well.

I was thinking exactly the same, for a brand new stadium it didn’t look to great, but I only had that impression after watching motd.

I must admit, I've never had an impression either way about what a stadium's wow factor is by just watching a game on TV. You rarely see it, apart from a bit of the far end (from the camera).

I've two Everton mates in Lincoln, and they both happened to be at the game yesterday. Playing golf with one today, so I'll see if I can remember to ask him what he thought. The other stuck photos and a video on Facebook, and it looked pretty impressive to me.

Which stadium in this country does wow you from the inside? I suspect any of your answers could be pulled apart. It's probably a personal thing.

The steep home end is deliberate, back to the German aspect, as it traps the noise. It's an acoustic design. That's more important than it looking pretty šŸ¤·šŸ»

Like any new stadium, it’ll take some getting used to. The only thing I don’t like about it is seeing ā€œHill Dickinsonā€ plastered on it. Other than that I like it. I think the location, on the waterfront where nothing can be built around it, is great. Typically of modern designs it has scope for adding extra to it relatively easily.

I’m not quite sure what more can be expected of it, unless you want enchanted castle turrets at the corners.

That’s just a poor comment, wow factor, it’s not a girlfriend. The wow factor comes from the noise, atmosphere, the feel, the closeness to the pitch. Instead you go on about the wow factor. All I can say about that is WoW.

🤣

I thought it was funny to be fair!

Grown men actually took the time to put a bedsheet on their dining room table and paint a picture of Mr Marinakis and Morgan Gibbs-White on it! 🤣🤣🤣

Did the job though. Got your lot right wound up (complaining to the Met Police rather embarrassing) and highlighted a few things to a much wider audience.

Decent game and both sides had their chances. Your bench a lot stronger than ours which is something we must address before deadline day šŸ™.

Hope the forest fans who decided to parade a Europa Cup flag outside Norwood Junction Station are reflecting a little on that decision this morning. 😃 šŸ˜‰

I've made the error of watching Ref Watch on sky. Dermot Gallagher justifying the handballs given and not given this weekend 🤪. Really no difference between any of them. Jay Boothroyd, footballer pointing out the inconsistencies, and looking bemused at the answers.

I can handle inconsistent decisions in the moment, refs are human, but Gallagher defending every decision is pointless.

The photos you see are mainly from one side looking to the river.
On the land side there are still some very old buildings housing a variety of small buisnesses on the Dock road including a PXG fitting centre in Flights golf.
This was a concern about accessibility to the ground and if these buisnesses would have to shut down on match days.

United really showed what most fans knew. You can spend a fortune on a front three but what’s behind them is nowhere near good enough. They create very little after fast starts and defensively they switch off, time and again. Either giving the ball away or not tracking runners - just watch Bruno let Smith-Rowe have a free run for the Fulham goal.

We are beyond desperate for a box to box midfielder.

That video kinda endorses everything that is wrong with VAR. Those kinda mistakes should not be happening. šŸ˜–

Sesko finding out what it's like to be Hojlund. Feeding on scraps. Little or no service.
Midfield struggling to find that Scholes type killer pass from midfield. Ugarte isn't the answer. And what's Kobi's role in all this?

Not sure too many of us are wound up tbh, it’s the FA who are upset by this. Considering you can’t even smuggle a hip flask into football grounds these days, Palace as a club will face questions about it.

But I hope the fans who did this aren’t punished. You can tell they used their very best painting set for it after all! 🤣

Was the banner any worse than ā€œFA corruptā€ banners that have been seen at Forest and Everton games ?

Ugarte is strong in the tackle but has absolutely no awareness of what’s around him. The number of times he concedes possession with poor passes, or is bundled off the ball by a player he hasn’t seen coming, is quite frightening. And Bruno switches off way too often. That’s the problem with this system - we can’t carry one midfielder like that, never mind two.

Something has clearly happened with Mainoo. The manager clearly doesn’t like him, to the point where he seems a squad player at best. If a decent offer came in it wouldn’t surprise me to see him go.

Oh, for a player like N’Golo Kante. Someone 75% as good as him would make such a difference.

The performances in general have been encouraging but you can’t switch off in the prem or you get punished that’s how high the level is and why a lot of promoted sides struggle.
United have improved a number of positions but I think they desperately need a leader and organiser in the middle of the park.
How much would they give for a Roy Keane type player now?
